We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking host to join our team at Parea Greek Taverna. As the first point of contact at Parea Greek Taverna, the host represents our brand and embodies our commitment to providing legendary service. This role requires a warm, outgoing personality with a passion for engaging with guests by creating memorable experiences including greeting guests with a genuine Greek welcome.
Responsibilities
Greet all guests immediately upon entry with a warm smile
Approach guests by coming out from behind the host stand to ensure personal interaction
Seat guests at desirable tables and ensure they are satisfied with their seating
Open the front door for guests entering or leaving the building
Provide menus, inform guests of their server's name, and communicate special requests or celebrations to the server
Record guest names, party sizes, and provide estimated wait times when necessary
Answer phone calls professionally with the greeting: “Thank you for calling Parea Greek Taverna, this is name. How may I assist you?”
Document large party inquiries and pass them to management for follow-up
Maintain contact with servers to address dining details and guest concerns
Check tables for availability, cleanliness, and proper setup regularly
Keep the host stand and entry area clean and organized
Ensure menu books are always clean and updated with lunch specials when needed
Record and manage dining reservations, including special requests and preferences
Inspect and clean restrooms hourly
Direct guests waiting to be seated to enjoy the bar or other waiting area
Offer samples to passers-by when not otherwise engaged
Relay messages to servers and bussers regarding large parties
Thank departing guests and invite them to return with a farewell Greek phrase
Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests' needs and support restaurant operations
