The Server is responsible for contributing to a great member and guest dining experience. The server will provide excellent customer service, a robust understanding of the menu, and attention to detail during the members dining experience. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.
Key Responsibilities
Contributing to a great member and guest dining experience by providing excellent customer service, a robust understanding of the menu and drink pairings, and attention to detail during the members dining experience.
Take customers food and alcoholic/nonalcoholic beverages orders including communicating with customers regarding orders, comments, and complaints, and will deliver those orders to the customers.
Ensure that meals are delivered to the correct recipients and that guidelines, such as those for special diets or allergies are followed.
Check in with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
Monitor supplies or food items and restock them as necessary to maintain inventory.
Enter all transactions accordingly into POS system, issue accurate checks, and close sales timely and according to policies and procedures.
Keep a record of the amounts and types of foods and beverages served to the customers.
Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping, mopping, wiping tables, washing dishes, picking up trash, and cleaning the work area, to keep equipment and facilities sanitary.
Ensure daily opening and closing responsibilities are completed accurately and consistent with the departments SOP.
Report any maintenance and/or safety issues promptly to the Restaurant Manager.

Skills & Qualifications
At least 6 months of previous serving experience at a fine-dining or high-volume environment at private club, hotel or resort preferred.
Knowledge of HACCP & local food safety standards;
Possesses or can obtain State/Local Food Safety Certificate with support from the employer (if applicable).
Robust knowledgeable of wines and beverage.
Must work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holiday and a shift greater than eight (8) hours in length.
Worker may be required to work breakfast, lunch or dinner shift.
Must read, write, speak and understand English.
Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
Must meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than four (4) hours, and lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, pushing and pulling.
Employer will assist in worker obtaining County Food Handlers Card, including assisting with the cost.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing "Can Do" attitude and genuine hospitality and by exceeding guest expectations.
* Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service

Provides food and beverage service to guests in the restaurant
* Provides guest with overview of menu choices 10%
* Takes guests' order - provides explanation of menu and upsells as appropriate 10%
* Utilizes MICROS POS to accurately enter food & beverage orders and process discounts and payments. 10%
* Prepares order for presentation to guest 5%
* Servers and replenishes beverages 5%
* Clears tables throughout the dining experience using proper methods for removing dishes, glassware and silverware 5%
* Cleans tables, chairs and floor area 5%
* Resets table quickly 5%
* Consolidates and garnishes food items when completed and delivers to assigned table. 15%
* Knowledgably in bar beverages i.e., beer, wine, distilled spirits
* Assists service team as necessary to meet and exceed the guests' expectations
* Complete all side work assignments to Restaurant standards 10%
* Performs duties according to the Department of Health sanitation and food safety guidelines 10%
* Must perform manual and electronic transactions that include: monies, room charge, credit card, coupons, vouchers and any hotel issued certificates. 10%
