Student success coach and mentor (entry level, paid, full-time) City Year AmeriCorps Member City Year, an AmeriCorps program, helps students across schools succeed. Teams of City Year AmeriCorps members provide support to students, classrooms and the whole school, helping to ensure that students in schools receive a high-quality education that prepares them with the skills and mindset to thrive and contribute to their community. It is one of the 120 city parks in Providence, including 12 downtown parks. During the winter season, The Providence Rink serves over 50,000 ice skating and ice bumper car patrons. It is the premier destination for visitors to explore our downtown parks and a staple in the community for outdoor activities. The City Center Rink is looking for a seasonal Skate Host position. The staff member will work under the supervision of assistant managers and will report to the City Center Manager. Opportunities at the City Center Rink are fun, fast paced and challenging. Job DescriptionCity of Providence Parks Department - City Center Rink City Center Rink is in the heart of downtown Providence between Biltmore and Burnside Park. It is one of the 120 city parks in Providence, including 12 downtown parks. During the winter season, The Providence Rink serves over 50,000 ice skating and ice bumper car patrons. It is the premier destination for visitors to explore our downtown parks and a staple in the community for outdoor activities. The City Center Rink is looking for a seasonal Ice Bumper Car Host position. The staff member will work under the supervision of assistant managers and will report to the City Center Manager. Opportunities at the City Center Rink are fun, fast paced and challenging. Ice Bumper Car Hosts should be able to work in a high volume customer service setting and also be comfortable working and walking on the ice surface. Ice Bumper Cars run Monday - Friday 4:00-8:00PM (shifts are 3:30PM-8:30PM). Saturday and Sunday 9:00AM-2:00PM (shifts are 8:30AM-2:30PM). Responsibilities: Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant. Present menus and provide detailed information about the dishes and beverages available. Take accurate food and drink orders from guests and enter them into the POS system. Relay orders to the kitchen and ensure timely delivery of food and beverages. Serve food and drinks to guests in a prompt and courteous manner. Check guest satisfaction and address any concerns or special requests.
