MAJOR DUTIES:

Provides administrative and fiscal support service for Seminars and Journalism staff including answering email and phone correspondence; compiling and drafting BOG reports and Seminars and Journalism impact reports; and assisting preparation of budget documents. Creates/finalizes travel requests, travel orders, travel completion, travel completion reports, purchases and other documentation for Seminars and Journalism staff. Oversees development, editing, updating and maintaining of Seminars and Journalism webpages and sharing web-related concerns with the wider Center. Creates and manages program-specific websites housed offsite.
Manages the database of contact information, using Raiser's Edge and excel files, for institutional partners, participants, alumni, applicants, interested parties, etc. and ensures the data is current and accurate using Raiser's Edge and excel files.
Gathers information, creates/drafts copy and design, and edits and assists with the layout for program brochures, promotional and other program materials. Coordinates and compiles information for various reports and projects such as the annual infographics sheet and PowerPoint presentations. Handles mass mailings through mass marketing service providers such as Mail Chimp and creates/drafts/manages social media posts and blogsites using content provided by program coordinators.
Serves as a work leader for Seminars and Journalism student assistants: manages, assigns and oversees student work; and trains students. Assists in student hiring process. Supervises student assistants when program secretary is absent.
Drafts thank you cards, invitations, newsletters, brochures and other documentation as required for Seminars and Journalism events and activities. DEPARTMENT: HMA Plants - Kauai REPORTS TO: Operations Manager, HMA Plants STATUS: Union - Operating Engineers We are seeking a dependable, safety-oriented Asphalt Plant Service Person to support the efficient operation and maintenance of our asphalt plants. This role involves a mix of hands-on labor, mechanical support, routine maintenance, and equipment operation. The ideal candidate is flexible, mechanically inclined, and willing to travel to various plant site locations as needed, including working nights, weekends, and holidays.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
* Assist with daily operations and general upkeep of asphalt plants.
* Perform manual labor tasks such as shoveling, sweeping, cleaning, and material handling.
* Conduct daily inspections and routine maintenance of plant equipment, including lubrication of bearings and motors.
* Support plant start-up, shut-down, and troubleshooting activities.
* Operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, and light equipment including forklifts, loaders, and skid steers.
* Complete and document daily inspection checklists and maintenance logs.
* Assist the Asphalt Plant Operator with inventory and substitute when required.
* Perform preventive maintenance and minor mechanical, electrical, and welding repairs.
* Load and unload materials as necessary.
* Follow OSHA, MSHA, and company safety standards and wear PPE at all times.
* Travel interisland or to various job sites regularly, based on operational needs.
* Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisor or plant operator.
PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS
* High school diploma or GED preferred.
* 5 years of relevant experience, training, or a combination preferred.
* MSHA certification or previous miner certification preferred.
* Basic knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, welding/cutting, belts, and bearings is helpful.
* Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn plant operations.
* Valid driver's license with favorable driving record; CDL is a plus.
* Ability to read and interpret technical documents, job requirements, and safety regulations.
* Strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or within a team
* Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
* Capable of standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and crouching throughout the workday.

Position Summary:
The Alumni and Community Engagement Coordinator (“Coordinator”) is a key member of the University of Hawai‘i Foundation (UHF) alumni and community engagement teams, primarily focused on providing alumni, community engagement and UHF special events program and administrative support. Position Summary:
The Alumni and Community Engagement Coordinator (“Coordinator”) is a key member of the University of Hawai‘i Foundation (UHF) alumni and community engagement teams, primarily focused on providing alumni, community engagement and UHF special events program and administrative support. This includes data requests to generate guest lists, research, drafting event briefings and drafting event worksheets. As needed, the Coordinator may need to staff events and initiate subsequent follow-up communication.
Serve as a liaison and resource for UH alumni, community partners, UH/UHF leadership, faculty and stakeholders.
Update and assist with the Foundation database with changes or additions to alumni/donor contact information, enter contact reports, and follow up on inquiries. The Coordinator will also connect those interested in giving with appropriate development officer or UHF department.
Administrative and Fiscal Support (50%)

Assist with preparing for meetings and other activities, then document and organize the follow-up requirements at the end of these activities.
Research, draft, and edit written communications that may include briefing materials for meetings and events, proposals, reports, and correspondence.
Gather, assemble and refine material and data required for correspondence, memorandums, reports, or other material.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a broad constituency inside and outside the Foundation and University of Hawaii System.
Represent the Foundation in a positive manner internally, to the University, and to the community.
Communicate in writing and/or verbally with high profile internal and external contingents, including University and UH Foundation leadership, alumni, donors, and supporters.
Relay and resolve routine telephone inquiries, establish and maintain records.
Arrange for the team air travel, accommodations, meeting rooms, food and beverage needs, including travel authorizations and post travel reimbursements.
Assist with fiscal support, including processing expenses and revenues, monitoring departmental invoices and expenditures, and gathering account information.
Regularly deal with diverse matters requiring a broad knowledge of the Foundation's organizational operations and policies necessary to ensure appropriate decision-making protocols are followed.
With other administrative personnel, provide back-up administrative and telephone support for the seamless functioning of UH Foundation offices.

Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required.
A minimum of one year of progressive experience in non-profit organizations, especially in alumni, development, education, or membership settings, is preferred.
Experience and demonstrated success in developing major gift strategies, soliciting and closing gifts and developing recommendations for stimulating interest in the organization's program is preferred.
Must possess a valid driver's license as well as pass a background check including driving record upon offer of employment. A reliable mode of transportation is required.
