GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Position is responsible for assessing family needs, providing crisis intervention and resource allocation services to the families served by NCMEC, as well as cases referred by local and federal law enforcement. This service is provided to both missing and exploited children, their caregivers, and helping professionals. This position works closely with other team members within the Family Advocacy Division to support and address concerns from caregivers, law enforcement, and/or children regarding the dynamics associated with a missing and exploited child and includes recovery and reunification of children. Position will also be responsible for providing routine clearinghouse assistance (RCA) to social workers, mental health providers, school personnel, and law enforcement in the above-mentioned areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assess the needs of the family and child, provide mental health and therapeutic interventions to caregivers who have a missing child, have recovered a missing child, have been reunited with a missing child, or have a child who has been sexually exploited.
Provide routine clearinghouse assistance (RCA) to the multiple helping professions that could be involved in a missing or sexually exploited child case.
Provide support to caregivers and children who contact NCMEC with reports and concerns about their case and safety.
Research and liaise with appropriate victim service agencies, mental health providers, or crime victim resources who can serve the needs of NCMEC families.
Ensure data is accurate and updated, and resources are ready to serve families in need.
Promote and exhibit loyalty to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the cause of protecting children worldwide.
Promote a professional image.
Communicate with co-workers, management, law enforcement officials, service providers, survivors, and others courteously and professionally.
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Possess a bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field (Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Counseling) focused on advocacy and mental health intervention and prevention.
At least (2) years of casework experience in the child and victim services field.
Possess experience with trauma, healing, and resiliency interventions for children and adults.
Counseling or victim advocacy experience preferred.

TITLE: Family Coach (Family Educator)
CLASSIFICATION: Part -Time (20 hours per week), Non-Exempt (HOURLY) Join our Family Coach (Family Education Facilitators) team and become a vital part of a caring, culturally responsive support network dedicated to fathers and father figures in Hillsborough County with children aged 17 and under. In this direct -service position, you'll be trained and accredited to deliver proven, evidence based- curricula-empowering father by improving parenting confidence, engagement, and helping them to address behavioral and emotional challenges with their children. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Provides consultation to fathers in adherence to the evidence-based curricula adopted by the program.
2. Plans and coordinates delivery of services with FRANC team to assure compliance with regulatory standards and reporting requirements (Department of Children & Families, Council on Accreditation, and curricula organization).
3. Reviews screenings and assessments, utilizing program specific protocol and consult with case management when community supports are needed.
4. Cultivate and manage ongoing collaborative relationships with other CFC programs as well as in the early childhood, child welfare, behavioral health, legal, housing, and family serving communities.
5. Timely data entry into participant records and data collection systems.
6. Prepare for and participate in case reviews with the Interdisciplinary Team.
7. Adheres strictly to policies which ensure participant confidentiality.
8. Participates in and supports the agency's performance and quality improvement processes.
9. Participates in outreach development and delivery of community events.
10. Participates in related training and workshops.
11. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Minimum bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or related field.
2. Preference will be given to individuals with a minimum of 3 years prior experience supporting father and father figures with family support/case management services.
3. Complete required training and certification for selected curricula, training will be provided if not already certified.
4. Manage a caseload; organize and prioritize work assignments; make decisions and independent judgments; determine the appropriate course of action in emergency or stressful situations; and recognize reportable events.
5. Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Microsoft 365 web-based applications and using internet search engines and other online research tools.
6. Ability to work in the office, clients' homes and in the community.
7. Available to work evenings and some Saturdays for community and program events.
8. Bilingual in English/Spanish is an advantage but not required.
9. Professional, self-directed, follow-through on projects and prompt responsiveness to internal and external stakeholders.

Team members work collaboratively with settings in which the participant is living and use assertive engagement strategies to proactively engage individuals in services. IMT team members share responsibility for the people they serve, helping individuals attain housing and other personal and safety goals that may be of a health, social, work or education nature.
IMT teams are multi-disciplinary and include psychiatry, nursing, social work, peer specialists and other staff members offering rehabilitation, treatment and recovery support services. The team provides expertise in the areas of housing, substance use and harm reduction, criminal justice, peer support and behavioral health recovery. Based on their area of expertise, team members collaborate to deliver comprehensive, integrated and flexible services that are responsive to a participant's choices, needs and goals. With a small staff to participant ratio, services are brought to the participant and offered in natural settings, 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

The IMT Behavioral Health Specialist is an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team of mental health clinicians. Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in counseling, social work, or other clinical discipline, such as psychology.

Our programs are spread across 25 locations and include over 1200 units of supportive housing in three boroughs, the Howie the Harp Advocacy Center, Peer-driven Crisis Respite Center, Adult Home Initiative, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) and the Intensive Mobile Team (IMT).
Department Overview
Intensive Mobile Treatment (IMT) is an innovative, creative, trauma-informed mobile practice model designed to provide treatment, rehabilitation and support services to individuals whose needs have not been met by traditional services. IMT participants interact with homeless services, criminal justice, and behavioral health service systems.
IMT teams are hired, trained and funded to maximize flexibility and continuity of care for persons who historically have been poorly served. Community Access' IMT Teams serve individuals who are street homeless or living between institutional settings and housing. Team members work collaboratively with settings in which the participant is living and use assertive engagement strategies to proactively engage individuals in services. IMT team members share responsibility for the people they serve, helping individuals attain housing and other personal and safety goals that may be of a health, social, work or education nature.
IMT teams are multi-disciplinary and include psychiatry, nursing, social work, peer specialists and other staff members offering rehabilitation, treatment and recovery support services. The team provides expertise in the areas of housing, substance use and harm reduction, criminal justice, peer support and behavioral health recovery. Based on their area of expertise, team members collaborate to deliver comprehensive, integrated and flexible services that are responsive to a participant's choices, needs and goals. With a small staff to participant ratio, services are brought to the participant and offered in natural settings, 24 hours a day and seven days a week.
Overview
The IMT Peer Specialist Intern is an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals. The Peer Specialist Intern is a resource to participants and other team members in issues related to integrating wellness goals. The Peer Specialist Intern is a person with the lived experience of a mental health condition who has a willingness to share personal and practical experience, knowledge, and first-hand insight to benefit IMT program participants. The Peer Specialist Intern engages and builds trusting relationships with program participants and their networks to support the person's recovery. The IMT Peer Specialist Internship will provide you with the opportunity to develop the skills required to obtain a permanent position as a Peer Specialist within the workforce.

Internship Learning Opportunities and Areas of Instruction:
Through the course of your internship you will have practice and learned the following skills:
Understand and implement person-centered treatment planning interventions
Identify participant treatment and support service needs and associated service plan objectives based on participant goals.
Utilize strategies for collaborating with collateral contacts including shelters, hospitals, outpatient services and criminal justice systems.
Provide or connect participants with employment counseling, vocational rehabilitation, completion of housing applications and placement, and provision of life skills training.
Assist participants with navigating service systems, including behavioral and medical health, criminal justice, shelter system, entitlements and transportation.
Educate participants about self-help techniques, processes and community options, including education regarding coping strategies via WRAP plans or other supports.
Provide harm reduction services, integrated substance use treatment and relapse prevention.
Completion of documentation that meets medical-necessity standards.
Comprehensive IMT service activities:
Assess and provide services to participants to address health and wellness, housing, income support, education, vocational training, employment and social supports.
Complete assessments and evaluations as required based on a rotating schedule
Provide IMT treatment services including: service planning and coordination; problem solving; support with obtaining housing; developing social connections; strengthening family and other relationships; developing independent living skills and obtaining necessary resources; accessing and accessing education and training; employment supports (job search, placement and support); entitlement and financial management; empowerment and self-help; wellness self-management with a focus on the development of coping skills; support with medications; and weekly groups.
Use motivational interviewing, recovery and trauma-informed approaches when delivering services.
Complete crisis intervention and relapse prevention plans.
Collaboration with participants, families and natural supports, shelter, jail and community partners to promote attainment of treatment and recovery goals.
Coordinate discharge in collaboration with inpatient and ER staff when participants have involvement.
Complete thorough, timely and accurate documentation of all contacts.
Utilize public transportation for travel throughout boroughs.

Internship Qualifications
Have an understanding, appreciation, and commitment to the philosophy and mission of Community Access.
Commitment to person-centered treatment strategies, upholding participants' rights, and self-determination in service provision.
New York Certified Peer Specialist (NYCPS), or Provisional Certification in progress.
Lived experience of a mental health condition required, and a history of homelessness, involvement with the criminal justice system, and/or experience with substance use services, preferred.
Available to work a flexible schedule, mornings, evenings and weekends in response to participant needs.
Must be able to work in the community, including use of public transportation
Computer proficiency in Windows operating systems and programs, such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as comfort with learning new electronic systems.
Bilingual Spanish-speaking, preferred
Must be fingerprinted and cleared by the New York State Justice Center.
