Key responsibilities will include diagnosing issues with VFDs, PLCs, soft start equipment, motor starters, and motors up to 450 HP. The technician will also be responsible for lighting control systems and general machine and equipment repair. A strong expertise in 480 volt 3-phase systems is essential for this role.

**Essential Responsible Areas:**
+ Complies with established job safety practices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment, in accordance with the guidelines of the food safety system. This includes initiating and reviewing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility as directed.
+ Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains high-speed, industrial process equipment for can and/or end making, power, lighting, control, and PLC logic controls for all production process and control equipment. This includes: all electrical power (24 to 600 volts), automation controllers, VFDs, transducers, proximity sensors, and inspection devices.
+ Identifies and designs process improvements for inefficiencies and potential electrical problems and coordinates through supervisor to implement.
+ Diagnoses causes of malfunctions and corrects through field measurements and programmable logic control software. Ensures efficient equipment operation through proper line control programming and proactively suggests methods to improve line performance.
+ Maintains effective communication and documentation through review of and entries to daily log books, updates to wiring schematics (paper and ACAD), and computer program change forms, (whether maintained on paper or Microsoft Office formats), as well as shift turn over meetings.
+ Determines all supplies needed for each assignment.
+ Work assigned schedule or 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights, Monday through Sunday, working hours may vary as specified by management. Incumbent must be able to work overtime on a regular basis and/or be on call as directed by management.
+ Complies with environmental regulations when using, dispensing, or handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials and wastes. Recognizes waste streams and minimizes waste generation through prudent use of materials, proper disposal and segregation as directed during training or by the EC, EFP/EM. Position Overview:
As part of the Mercury Marine Maintenance team, you will provide expertise in installing, programming, troubleshooting, servicing and documenting the electrical/electronic needs of the production/facility equipment in a Distribution Center environment.

Essential Functions:
Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs manufacturing process / production machines, robots, automation equipment and related electrical equipment, such as electrical control circuits from 24VDC up to and including 480VAC, electro-mechanical test devices, instrumentation devices, PLCs / ladder logic controllers, and variable frequency drives as necessary.
Ability to read and understand electrical and electronic schematics to provide effective modifications, advice, corrective actions, and more
Provide support for equipment such as, automated conveyor systems, vision systems, semi-automated palletizers, various semi/auto packaging machines, industrial air compressors, HVAC systems, and more
Comply with NEC standards
Repair and maintain electrical equipment
Complete preventative, corrective and unplanned maintenance tasks. Utilize a CMMS/EAM system for work orders.
Install and maintain a wide variety of complex electrical equipment
Ability to design/construct electrical panels and perform effective wiring/installation (panel and field).
Diagnose, remove, replace and periodically maintain electrical motors
Provide electrical/electronic support for the facility equipment and systems

Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years documented experience in the Electrician Trade in supporting complex manufacturing equipment and facility operations
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Must have working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC, HMI, RFID and other electronic sensors and devices.
Ability to use equipment and tools common to the Electrician's Trade
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision as well as positively contribute to a team environment
Perform all work timely as required according to Company safety policies, recognized industry standards, and always follow what is known to be safe practices
Ability to train, instruct, guide and mentor the work of apprentices in the development of skills and abilities
Preferred Qualifications:

Working Conditions:

* Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains high-speed, industrial process equipment for can and/or end making, power, lighting, control, and PLC logic controls for all production process and control equipment. This includes: all electrical power (24 to 600 volts), automation controllers, VFDs, transducers, proximity sensors, and inspection devices.
* Identifies and designs process improvements for inefficiencies and potential electrical problems and coordinates through supervisor to implement.

* Repair or replace plant equipment or systems on a scheduled or emergency basis.
* Perform preventative maintenance activities as required.
* Participate in safe work permit and lock out tag out programs.
* Interact directly with operations and shipping & receiving departments to ensure scheduled work can be completed.
* Assist with diagnosing and trouble-shooting maintenance related issues.
* Assist with new installations and other projects, as requested by the supervisor.
* Monitor reliability of equipment.
* Work with engineering department and external contractors to plan and implement installation of new equipment or systems.
* Know and understand city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to maintenance and plant equipment, and work in a safe manner to ensure that these regulations are met at all times.
* Work a schedule that occasionally requires overtime or call-in as required.
* Participate in plant turnarounds.
* Participate in programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.
* Participate in Health, Safety and Environmental programs.
* Assist Corporate Network / IT department as needed.
* Complete work orders as assigned.
This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.
Minimum Requirements:
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Minimum of two years of experience in electrical or instrumentation maintenance and repair or associates degree (or higher) in a related field required.
* Able and willing to work on-site and in-person, required.
Preferred Requirements:
* Journeyman license preferred.
* ISA certification preferred.
* Programmable logic controller / Distributed control system (PLC/DCS) troubleshooting/programming experience preferred.
