Apprentice Electrician (Loveland, CO) Pay: $22-$28 per hour DOE The Electrical Apprentice supports the Journeyman and/or Master Electricians while working towards licensure as an electrician. This involves performing the work as necessary including assembling, installing, testing and inspecting electrical equipment. This position involves identifying safety risks and using the right precautions to eliminate the risks. The right candidate should be comfortable and knowledgeable with hand tools needed for tasks such as installing and modifying cable trays installing and modifying conduit and pulling wire. It is important that this person has color vision, as it is imperative to identify different types, gauges, and color of cables and wires. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited institution required. Some experience in the electrical industry is preferred. Must be able to identify basic safety hazards and know how to avoid them. Experience with running and troubleshooting heat trace is a plus. Experience with general hand tools and power tools. Now for the position: With the help of our electrical department, we are able to ensure end to end quality installations for our customers that are up to code specs and our company standards. This position will be involved with project tie-in and commissioning, helping to oversee projects from installation hand-off through the commissioning and operation to ensure code standards, quality, efficiency, and safety. To be qualified for this position, you'd need: A Journeyman or Residential Wireman Electrician License (which must be maintained in good standing) At least 2-4 years performing PV Solar Interconnection The ability to work unsupervised on residential or commercial interconnections individually or in conjunction with other members of the electrical team A High School Diploma or equivalent Advanced knowledge of NEC OSHA 10 Certification The ability to climb and use ladders safely Willingness and ability to work long hours (+/- 10) outdoors in colorado weather A valid CO Driver's License and a clean driving record (both of which must be maintained Bonus Points for: NABCEP PV Installation Professional (PVIP) Certification 2-3 Year experience performing PV system interconnection Supervisory or Team Leadership experience Roof experience This will not be the right opportunity for those who: Aren't a leader who can inspire a team to optimal performance with or without line authority Expect to merely direct the work of others as opposed to getting their hands dirty as part of a growing team Lack the confidence to be the technical electrical expert at a job site Can't tolerate working outdoors in all types of Colorado weather…weird as that can be Are afraid of heights Can't easily get along with a team of people working on a roof as well as the people living underneath it.
