Repair, replace, and connect single or three-phase motors AC or DC, on all types of production and support equipment.
Maintain and replace starter, contactors, relays, timers, limit switches, and counters.
Use material handling equipment when performing certain electrical maintenance work; operate a forklift truck for transporting equipment and lifting employees; use specialized power equipment for pulling cable and wire.
Use multimeters and other test instruments when troubleshooting electrical circuits; interpret resistance, voltage and amperage readings to arrive at the solution to electrical problems; use instrumentation built into equipment to diagnose certain malfunctions.
Proceed independently when installing or troubleshooting electrical equipment; obtain needed information form wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and code books.
Follow all plant safety rules; including lock out of all plant equipment so that it is safe to work on; use safety equipment appropriate for the job; be aware of the safety of others.

Who You Are
• Journeyman card, Associate's Degree, or equivalent required (military service considered equivalent to 2-year degree)
• 2+ years of electrical maintenance experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
• Experience in tube mill or steel manufacturing preferred
• Skilled in reading schematics, using diagnostic tools, and following maintenance documentation
• Capable of basic math and using measuring equipment accurately
• Strong communication, teamwork, and listening skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, climbing, and stooping
• Proficient in basic computer usage
• Maintains regular, full-time onsite attendance per posted schedule

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of equipment in VVF's operations.
Basic Minimum Requirements:
Must have five (5) years on-the-job experience as an industrial electrician.
Experience in electrical troubleshooting, and installing and repairing pneumatic/electrical instrumentation, power distribution, and control/power wiring.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, and national electrical code.
Experience working with AC/DC drives and motors, PLC's, sensors, and control devices.
Experience with various Servo/Stepper/Custom drives systems as used on existing equipment. (Kinetics/Sercos/Lexium/Emerson Servos, Parker Stepper Drives, etc.)
Experience with ethernet/RS232/RS485/Modbus+/DeviceNet communications to various equipment types in order to troubleshoot, diagnose, program and repair malfunctions.
Experience working with mechanical components and systems, (motor, gearbox, bearing, driveshaft, sprockets, roller chains, etc.)
Must have basic standard and metric hand tools (e.g. sockets, wrenches, pliers, channel locks, wire cutters).
Ability to operate shop equipment: grinders, belt sanders, drill press, band saws, hydraulic press, electric drills, etc.

Assists in remote troubleshooting when VVF engineering assistance is required.
Coordinates and verifies that proper documentation is provided in all completed work orders that detail the issue reported and the electrical troubleshooting and repair steps taken to correct them.
Performs a wide variety of service work in one or more specialized maintenance area
such as mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, or machine servicing.
Installs new machines by installing conduit, wire and electrical equipment; using hand tools and test equipment.
Repairs electrical systems and equipment by diagnosing malfunctioning electrical devices, determining faulty wiring; inspecting and testing.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Performs general manual labor work.
Performs all duties in a safe manner, utilizing safety practices and procedures required by VVF and applicable law (e.g. OSHA, etc.), personal protective equipment, and reporting procedures. Reviews all pertinent safety material before conducting new assignments.
Monitors for, and reports unusual occurrences to management.
Maintains all equipment and facilities in a clean, orderly and operating condition.
Trains other employees as required.
Completes work orders as required.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. No task or duty is exclusive to a classification or skillset.
