As our first install team in the Boston, we are looking for individuals with deep residential install experience to help us refine processes and procedures. You will be responsible for working as a part of a team to remove gas furnaces, install electric heat pump systems, and collaborate with engineering teams on how the product can be improved and the install process streamlined. Residency Requirement Employees must be Boston residents on their date of hire and for the duration of their employment subject to BWSC policies and collective bargaining agreements. Installs and maintains all electric systems for BWSC facilities, meters and reading devices and those systems owned or controlled by the Commission; ensures organizational efficiency in the application of prescribed policies, procedures, and methods. Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Makes periodic inspections of all plant equipment. Repairs and adjusts defective equipment. Inspects, maintains and repairs wiring, vacuum pumps, switches, chlorinating equipment, contacts, motors and other electrical equipment at all pumping stations. Operates gates, valves, air conditioning units and high tension disconnections. Installs industrial, residential and commercial equipment such as heating, lighting and power in Commission facilities. Qualifications Recommended Minimum Qualifications: Education, Training and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. Five (5) years of experience as a licensed Electrician. Experience in water, wastewater or construction industry, preferably in the public sector working with local government. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must have Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician's License or Master Electrician's License. Thorough knowledge of City of Boston electric codes is required. Must possess a valid Massachusetts Commercial Driver's License.
