OVERVIEW OF POSITION: The JourneyLevel Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for performing electrical tasks to maintain a safe and reliable operating facility. Perform higher skill installations, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical items on machinery, equipment, processes and buildings. Order and maintain material/parts necessary to perform electrical tasks. Maintain and update electrical related content of service manuals on machinery and equipment. Perform and document preventative maintenance (PM) and repair activities. Support outside services performing electrical tasks around the plant. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Plans and prepares electrical tasks to be efficient, effective, and safe. * Proficient in wiring and conduct installations, modifications, and repairs. * Practices superior workmanship that focuses on safety, reliability, and ongoing maintainability. * Proficient using modern test equipment to determine safe conditions, nominal operating conditions, and failed components. * Tests and reviews repaired components and connections for correct configuration before energizing them to avoid damage. * Make sure that all wiring and components are consistent with specifications and local electrical codes. * Reviews, troubleshoots, and corrects control software programming in PLC's or other electronic controllers. * Creates and documents controller programming for new processes. * Prepares new, or modifies, drawings and diagrams on documents that illustrate current condition(s) of equipment electrical wiring and components. * Supports and champions preventive maintenance and repairs practices to maximize equipment safety, reliability, and operational availability. * Inspect, diagnose, and repair failed electrical components. * Works with Journeylevel Maintenance Mechanic to train other maintenance personnel. * Connects/disconnects power and control sources to equipment to assist other trades. * Observes and monitors conditions of operational equipment, or system, to detect anomalies that indicate a need for adjustments or replacement. * Install, modify, and maintain telecommunication and data systems in facility. * Provides general maintenance support when needed. SPECIAL SKILLS: * Ability to read and understand drawings, planning, and specifications * Possess controls, PLC's, TC's, and electronics trouble shooting and repair skills. * Must be proficient with modern testing and measurement instruments and equipment. * Must be skilled and proficient with 480V, 3ph (and lower) power and control circuits. * Possess a working knowledge of general electrical safety requirements * Possess a working knowledge of electrical codes.
