Metric Engineering service inspector job description

Join our team of professionals! Metric Engineering is searching for a ITS Inspector for the Central Florida area.

This position requires a high school diploma plus at least 4 years in construction CEI, two (2) years of which shall have been in ITS construction inspection or a Civil Engineering Degree and one (1) year of ITS CEI experience.
Experience in Lighting and Signalization is also desired.

This position is responsible for field inspection duties of the installation of ITS, Lighting, Signals and Network components.

The position shall maintain as-built drawings of daily work activities, as well as documentation of contractor work activities, personnel, vehicles, and item quantities installed.

A firm understanding of CFX and FDOT specifications, policies and procedures is also desired.


Responsibilities

Responsible for inspecting construction work; monitoring ITS, Lighting, Signalization and electrical installation techniques to ensure conformance with the plans, specifications, National Electrical code and other applicable manuals. Responsible for coordinating and managing the lower level inspectors and escalating any deficiencies to the Project Administrator.

City of San Antonio service inspector job description

Under general supervision, is responsible for performing inspection and enforcement work in securing and maintain compliance with rules and regulations relative to an assigned section. Exercises functional supervision over assigned staff.
Work Hours

7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday Essential Job Functions

* Responds to citizen complaints regarding code violations related to the Historic Preservation Code and Certificates of Appropriateness, conservation districts approved by City Council and other related Unified Development Code regulations.
* Coordinates investigative and enforcement work with City staff and the City Attorney's Office for Boarding Home compliance with adopted regulations.
* Performs on-site inspections for compliance with new and existing requirements.
* Issues written orders for the correction of defects in material or workmanship and any other violation of codes and ordinances.
* Notifies contractors when codes violations are found and advises them on the necessary changes or actions that need to be taken to meet code requirements.
* Advises and provides information regarding procedures and follow-up actions.
* Prepares reports and recommendations showing results of daily inspections and recommends necessary changes and corrections noted from daily inspections.
* Prepares and maintains records of Inspectors' Licenses, permits issued, inspections performed, investigations conducted, or complaints received.
* Assists with more complex inspections to ensure compliance with code requirements, which includes occasional lifting and carrying equipment weighing 50 pounds.
* Conducts research and investigations within an assigned area.
* Implements personnel rules and standard operating procedures.
* Provides training, instruction, and functional supervision for assigned staff.
* Monitors field inspectors' workload, quality of work, plan checking abilities, daily inspection reports, investigation reports, vehicle, and overall work performance.

Job Requirements

* High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
* Six (6) years of inspection or technical electrical experience.
* Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
* Valid Master Electrician or Journeyman Electrician License issued by the City of San Antonio or State of Texas.
* Must obtain International Code Council (ICC) certification as an Electrical Inspector within one (1) year of employment.
* Must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Threat Assessment and a Criminal History Records check upon employment.
* Must maintain federally mandated security clearance required to work at an airport at all times.

Duncan Aviation service inspector job description

  1. Manages all aspects of assigned aircraft projects, which includes multiple work orders from multiple shops, relative to quality, return-to-service documentation and airworthiness from pre-planning to delivery of the entire aircraft project through planning, prioritizing, and providing accurate communication with customers and team members as necessary. Performs RII inspections as needed.
  1. Mentors and evaluates qualified inspectors progress and performance on assigned teams to promote continuing improvement of overall quality level of team. Provides input to production team leaders on performance of team's qualified inspectors to assist with annual performance evaluations. Coaches and mentors technicians to assist in developing their regulatory knowledge.
  1. Completes AD research as applicable. Verifies completion of log book research to identify the maintenance history of aircraft maintained by Duncan Aviation. Reviews on-going and final revisions and entries to FAA required aircraft logbooks and other necessary aircraft related documentation to accurately record maintenance or modifications performed under Duncan Aviation's repair station certificate.
  1. In cooperation with the assigned Project Manager and Certification Coordinator, helps manage all aspects of assigned aircraft work orders relative to modifications to provide broad oversight ensuring Quality milestones are achieved and modifications are compatible with existing aircraft configuration and/or other modifications being performed concurrently during work scope. Manages all aspects of company conformity inspections, whether performing personally or coordinating with appropriate inspectors, including ensuring the FAA Form 8130-9 is signed.

Is competent to assess compliance requirements for certification activities on large complex projects related to conformity, issuance of standard airworthiness certificates for imports and registration number changes, issuance of export certificate of airworthiness, issuance of special airworthiness certificates for special flight permits, coordinating for issuance of special flight authorizations, and placing aircraft into experimental category.
  1. Responds to internal and external customers' requests and inquiries related to aircraft maintenance, inspection, interpretation of regulatory compliance issues, and documentation requirements. Serves as liaison with the FAA in support of company personnel in ensuring compliance with FAR's. Willingly and effectively shares regulatory and inspection process knowledge with less experienced technicians to foster their development, ensure accurate work and support of the team's goals.
