POSITION :

Full Time – Salaried position with Benefits

Virginia Farm Bureau is seeking a dependable, customer service oriented Service Center Operator for the Underwriting and Policy Services department. This position is responsible for handling in-bound and out-bound calls, policy processing activities and requests, and responding to inquiries and requests from both our insured members and our internal agents and team members to support an excellent customer experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent data entry skills, paired with exceptional oral and written communication skills, professional phone presence and ability to handle a high volume of processing work activities with precision.

On a daily basis the Service Center Operator will spend time answering inquiries, supporting policy updates and changes, researching information and requests and documenting information in systems with approximately 50-70% of engagements being phone based.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Respond with high level of customer service to telephone inquiries and requests.

  • Enter premium transactions associated with statistical data into computer system.

  • Communicate with others (agents, policyholders, home office employees) to secure information needed to perform policy transactions.

  • Revise policy information as requested by policyholders and follow through on requests forwarded for agent or underwriting approval.

  • Maintain performance within acceptable Service Center quality standards including:

o Call volume database standards

o Service Center call database standards

o Recorded calls audit

o Entry audits

o Desk audits

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 1 year data processing / documentation / reporting or similar experience

  • Experience or interest in phone customer service role

  • Experience working with customers to solve inquiries and document detailed information preferred

  • Obtain P & C license within three months of hire

GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Early Career Co-Op provides support as directed through assignments within Enterprise Workplace Services - Operations Division while receiving exposure to the broader organization. What you will Do


The Summer 2023 Co-op rotation run from May 15, 2023 until August 11, 2023 and will be based out of our warehouse in Jeffersonville, IN.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


Work with your assignment leader to accomplish established objectives and goals that support the business and offer learning opportunity to develop your supply chain expertise This role focuses on how to drive continuous improvement as a part of our robotics and automation strategy within the warehouse. Partner with the site process improvements team using data analysis/advanced analytics, technology solutions, work observations and supplier management, to find opportunities to improve flow of parts within the warehouse as well as drive productivity projects to reduce costs. Work cross functionally with our 3PL and materials planning team to troubleshoot defects and drive corrective actions to reduce lead time between Jeffersonville and Ridge Road warehouses. Partner with operations tea to Poke Yoke receiving process to limit inventory errors. Reduce customer back orders through cross-functional work to improve dock to stock time. Inclusion in development and training opportunities to enhance the students' technical and professional development including, communication skills and resume writing. Participate on committees with peers that offer opportunities to network with the leaders of the company as well as volunteering with community service activities such as mentoring & tutoring elementary students. Optional committee events will also be available both in and out of work including lunches, weekend activities and sports. Reliable transportation to and from work daily is required. Housing & Relocation assistance available.



Required Qualifications


Currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor`s degree or better in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related degrees) or Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics/Distribution (or related degrees) December 2023 or later graduation date Cumulative GPA >=3.0 (out of 4.0) Legal authorization to work in the country/region where the business is hiring is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now, nor in the future, for this position.
