Responsibilities - Master Service Technician/Mechanic:
Inspect vehicle and diagnose problem(s)
Perform quality repair/maintenance work that meets dealership and manufacturer standards including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc.
Provide estimate of time and parts needed for repair/maintenance
Assist other Technicians where necessary
Learn new technical information and techniques in training sessions to stay current with rapidly changing technology
Keep shop neat and account for dealership owned tools

Tessera is seeking a skilled and reliable Locksmith to support secure, efficient operations across campus. In this role, you'll install, repair, and maintain a variety of locking systems - from safes and vaults to electronic access controls and master key setups. You'll respond to service calls, troubleshoot issues, and help ensure facility safety through expert craftsmanship and attention to detail. Your work keeps everything running smoothly - and it truly matters here.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Install, repair, and maintain commercial lockable hardware such as doors, automatic electric doors, and magnetic keying systems to ensure the safety of facilities.
Fabricate minor parts from raw stock and install, maintain, repair, clean, re-pack, and adjust all makes and types of door closures.
Examine the locking mechanism and install new units or disassemble units and replace worn tumblers, springs, and other parts, or repair them by filing, drilling, chiseling, and grinding.
Open door locks by moving the lock pick in the cylinder, or open safe locks by listening to lock sounds or by drilling. Make new or duplicate keys, using key cutting machine.
Provide and install lock cores, re-core and re-pin locks, manufacture keys, change lock combinations (including safes, GSA containers, electronic locks, entry controls, HIPAA storage locations and furniture), emergency access services for lock devices for which the combination or key is not available and maintenance and repair/battery replacement to Card Key Locks.
Change combination by inserting new or repaired tumblers into lock. Establish key systems for buildings.
Set combination locks on vaults, open locks, and make new keys by code for buildings.
Respond to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.
Clean, maintain, adjust, calibrate, and service equipment used in the performance of duties.
Order and maintain an inventory of all materials necessary to complete the work order.
Maintain manual and electronic work order records.
This position may be subject to call-back availability based on operational needs.
Qualifications:
Highschool Diploma/GED required.
3-5 years of Locksmith Experience.
Required to possess, or obtain within one month of hire, certification to service and maintain GSA containers and locking devices.
Hands-on experience in commercial, institutional, or government locksmithing, including installation, maintenance, and repair of locks, door hardware, and access control systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and key schedules.
Skilled in master key systems, lock rekeying, and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic locking devices.
Familiarity with security protocols and procedures in military or high-security environments.
Physical Requirements:

This comprehensive 4-year training program consists of 8,000 hours of paid on-the-job training and essential classroom education, designed to equip you with the skills needed to excel. The program begins with a 20% probationary period, allowing you to acclimate to the role while gaining valuable hands-on experience. You will attend school for at least 144 unpaid hours per school year (four hours each week), registered through a local Community and Technical College.
