This is a hands-on role-both strategic and tactical-that directly impacts production uptime, safety, and scalability. Key Responsibilities Electrical & PLC Troubleshooting Diagnose, repair, and maintain PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar). Troubleshoot electrical motors, drives, relays, sensors, and control circuits. Program, adjust, or modify PLC logic when necessary (minor programming, I/O changes, fault identification). Perform electrical work including wiring, electrical runs, conduit, panel work, power distribution, and device installs. Electromechanical Maintenance Provide hands-on support for general maintenance tasks as required (mechanical repairs, assembly/disassembly, component replacement, rigging, etc.). Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on electromechanical systems. Support mechanical troubleshooting and reliability improvements across production lines. Automation & Continuous Improvement Assist with planning and implementing automation solutions across the facility. Evaluate opportunities to replace manual processes with engineered solutions. Collaborate with operations, engineering, and leadership to design and execute improvement projects. Equipment Implementation & Commissioning Lead or support installation of new equipment from concept through commissioning. Coordinate vendor involvement, electrical integration, controls setup, and mechanical installation. Run first-article and proof-of-function testing to validate equipment performance. Document settings, parameters, SOPs, and maintenance procedures for new machinery. Safety & Compliance Ensure all work meets NEC, OSHA, and internal safety requirements. Participate in root-cause analyses and corrective actions following equipment issues or downtime events. Qualifications Required 3+ years in an electromechanical, industrial maintenance, automation tech, or controls technician role. Strong experience troubleshooting PLCs, sensors, I/O, and electrical control systems. Hands-on electrical experience: wiring, installations, conduit, panels, motors, VFDs. Ability to read schematics, P&IDs, ladder logic, and wiring diagrams. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to work on pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, mixers, etc. Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment. Preferred Experience in manufacturing environments involving adhesives, chemicals, or process equipment. Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMI systems. Experience installing or commissioning industrial equipment. Exposure to automation system design and integration. As our Industrial Equipment Technician, you'll make an impact by: Helping to sustain/improve plant operating performance. Identify root causes of equipment downtime or delay. Follow a structured, cost-effective approach to problem solving. Operating and maintaining the CMMS in an effective and productive manner. Assisting with fabrication, modification and installation of production equipment. Maintaining equipment and vehicles in safe working order. Recording issues, parts used, and labor hours accumulated to complete task or assignment. Assisting production supervisors with educating employees about effective equipment operation and avoidance of injuries and equipment damage. What you need to succeed: High school diploma or equivalent; college or trade-related accreditation preferred 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred Experience with automated packaging systems that use PLC's, HMI and Variable Frequency Drives preferred Able to operate and maintain certification on forklift Able to bend, twist, stoop, push, pull, walk across uneven surfaces, climb ladders and stairs, work at heights over 20 feet, lift up to 75 pounds (some overhead lifting), and stand for long periods Work hour flexibility (occasional work during off-shift and weekends, per business need). The role operates a vehicle regularly to visit different customer sites and plays a major part in maintaining safety and OSHA compliance for the Company.
