The Cable Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting structured cabling systems to support voice, data, video, and network communications. This role ensures all cabling infrastructure is installed to industry standards, project specifications, and customer requirements while maintaining safety and quality at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Cabling Work
Install, terminate, and test copper (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A) and fiber optic cabling systems.
Pull, label, route, and dress cables in commercial, industrial, and data center environments.
Install cable trays, J-hooks, ladder racks, racks, patch panels, and related infrastructure hardware.
Perform fiber splicing, connector installation, and end-to-end certification.
Install network equipment including switches, wireless access points, and telecom room hardware as directed.
Testing & Troubleshooting
Conduct continuity, performance, and certification testing using Fluke or similar testers.
Diagnose and resolve cable faults, signal loss, and connection issues.
Perform repairs and upgrades to existing cabling systems with minimal downtime.
Documentation & Compliance
Complete detailed daily job reports, cable logs, labeling documentation, and test results.
Ensure all cabling meets BICSI, NEC, and manufacturer standards.
Qualifications
1-3+ years of structured cabling or low-voltage installation experience preferred.
Knowledge of copper and fiber standards, cabling best practices, and industry tools.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and cable layouts.
Experience with cable testing equipment (Fluke DSX, OTDR, light meters).
Familiarity with LOTO, ladder safety, PPE, confined spaces, and general construction safety.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on ladders, and work in overhead or crawl spaces.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Certifications
BICSI Installer 1 or Installer 2 (Copper or Fiber)

Responsibilities - Ford-Certified Service Technician:
Perform work as outlined on repair order accurately in accordance with dealership and factory standards
Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair
Efficiently repair automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air-conditioning, etc., in accordance with dealership standards. This includes diesel vehicles.
Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts
Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required. Notify service advisor immediately if additional work outlined is not needed or required
Notify service advisor immediately if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised
Document work performed
Keep shop area neat, clean and be able to account for all dealership-owned tools at all times
Must follow all company safety policies and procedures and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor
Qualifications/Requirements - Ford-Certified Service Technician:
Ford certification and experience is required
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
Must be a team player
Valid driver's license and good driving record

Job Summary
The residential Maintenance Technician diagnoses, repairs, and maintains the physical condition and appearance of residential properties and other Mayroad assets (pool, community center, playgrounds, ice rinks, dog parks, community garden, etc.), including, but not limited to structural, paint, plumbing, HVAC, Steam, pressure washing, cleaning, electrical, etc., depending on assigned core duties.

What you will do
Perform HVAC Control systems programming, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, and preventative maintenance as it is related to mechanical, electrical, and low voltage controls components.
Respond to service and warranty calls using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools as well as a variety of hand tools including electrical testing meters and other electronic testing equipment.
Provide front line technical and repair support through effective communications with Johnson Controls customers. Provide system repair and or update recommendations and assist in proposing of recommendations to Johnson Controls customers.

How you will do it
Loading Johnson Controls field and network level controller software.
Performing commissioning and system diagnostics for all levels of system controllers as well as end devices (i.e. Sensors, actuators, etc.) and complete all required commissioning documentation.
Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.
Completes administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
Documents changes and provides information for as-built documentation.
Execute company sponsored as well as personally initiated training to insure the highest level of knowledge and capability are maintained
Engage with customers to fully understand their systems and needs.
Communicates with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
What we look for
Required:
2-4 years experience with BAS, Honeywell, Siemens , Tridium , Trane, Automated etc...
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, sequence and applications
Demonstrated technical aptitude in mechanical and electro-mechanical fields
Able to use hand, power tools and electrical testing equipment such as a multi meter.
Solid knowledge base in use of personal computers.
Attention to detail.
Good communication and listening skills.

The Fiber Optic Splicer Technician position installs and maintains fiber optic cables as well as provides technical assistance in the design and testing of fiber optics. Responsible for ensuring the integrity and efficiency of our network systems through expertise in splicing techniques and equipment repair.
Duties & Responsibilities
Splice single mode and ribbon fiber
Fusion splice and terminate various types of fiber optic connectors
Interpret as-builts and splicing matrices
Installation and dressing of fiber optic cabling
Perform uni-directional, bi-directional, and power meter testing (OLTS)
Troubleshoot fiber optic links and certify fiber optic links
Respond to emergency situations to restore service outages
Report splicing matrix.

Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in fiber splicing.
Experience with single fiber splicing, ribbon splicing, power meter and OTDR.

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) & the ability to interact professionally with customers.
Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.

Ability & Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed. This position will require being able to respond to afterhours fiber outages.
