Program Summary
The Maintenance Technician Development Program is geared towards individuals who want to gain the skills needed to receive their Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) licenses. The program requires enrollment in a FAR 147 certified program and offers mentorship and a defined path towards certification and starting a career with Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines.
If accepted into the program, the individual signs an agreement to work for Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines for a minimum of 30 months. Upon completing the FAR 147 requirements and obtaining their A&P license participants will become a Horizon Air Technician.
Key Duties
Currently enrolled and in good standing with an approved A&P school.
Quarterly check-ins with assigned mentor/leader.
Maintain effective communication with the company on curriculum progress.
Commit to work for Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines for 2.5 years post program completion and sign an agreement confirming this requirement.
Program Specific Experience, Education and Skills
Required:
Current enrollment in a certified FAR 147 FAA Airframe and Powerplant Program.
Ability to obtain and maintain A&P License within 90 days of graduation.
Ability and willingness to obtain a current valid passport allowing unrestricted travel, without a Temporary Resident Permit (TRP), to and from the U.S.
Ability and willingness to enter and exit Canada without restrictions and without requiring a Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) in order to complete maintenance work.
Ability to obtain and maintain airport AOA badge.
Possess excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
Ability and willingness to consistently lift 70 lbs. and bend, stoop, squat, reach and grasp.
Ability and willingness to operate various types of ground support equipment, including movable turboways, forklifts, tow tractors, elevated boom lifts, and hoists.
Ability and willingness to work on elevated surfaces by utilizing stands, climbing ladders or other suitable equipment to access aircraft surfaces at elevation.
Ability to adapt to performing work according to set procedures.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Detail oriented and highly organized.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Client is seeking a Field Service Installation Representative (FSIR) to join their team on a contract basis. WHAT YOU'LL DO

As an FAA Certified Part 145 Repair Station, Hillsboro Aviation provides comprehensive maintenance and avionics services for a wide array of aircraft. From privately owned airplanes and helicopters to fixed and rotor-wing fleet operators; our clientele encompasses private, commercial, and government sectors. Our full-service facility in Hillsboro, Oregon supports scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, modifications and upgrades, avionics, and AOG emergencies. Our factory-trained mechanics and avionics technicians boast an average of over 20 years of experience.
As a Senior Service Center Mechanic, you will report to the Service Center Manager and will be responsible for leading maintenance projects and performing maintenance functions on jet, turboprop, turbine helicopter and high-performance piston aircraft.
Ideal candidates are engaging, energetic, and driven. We are looking for someone who can work independently within their areas of responsibilities under limited supervision. The right candidate also values a strong work ethic and optimistic attitude while maintaining a critical eye for detail and organization.
The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. We require overtime during the week and on weekends when it is necessary to maintain our commitments and keep the shop's schedule in balance.
Job Responsibilities
Supporting the Service Center Manager in execution of responsibilities as defined in Hillsboro Aviation's Repair Station Manual (RSM).
Supporting the maintenance quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance on all customer aircraft.
Ensuring aircraft are maintained in accordance with the approved aircraft inspection program.
Ensuring airworthiness and availability of assigned customer aircraft.
Coordinating maintenance logistics to minimize downtime and maximize aircraft availability.
Maintaining a high standard of quality for the shop environment, tools, and records.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Licenses
FAA A&P Certificates
10+ years maintaining turboprops, jets, and/or turbine helicopters in a GA setting
Required Skills/Experience
Clean record/history with FAA and primary customer base
Preferred Skills/Experience
FAA Inspection Authorization
Experience maintaining HondaJets
Experience maintaining Citations
Experience maintaining King Airs
Experience maintaining Caravans
Experience maintaining Airbus helicopters
Experience maintaining Bell helicopters
Factory training for any of the aforementioned aircraft
Experience with major repairs & alterations
Experience with non-routine and complex maintenance tasks
Avionics experience
