Job Description
The General ServiceTechnician role is full time or part-time and is an hourly position based on needs of the business. The General ServiceTechnician is responsible for performing basic routine vehicle repair and maintenance services in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications. This position is expected to deliver exceptional 5 Star service to our guests, through effective communication of vehicle issues and proposed solutions while ensuring that guest expectations for time commitments and quality are consistently met.
Pay Range is $15.00-$18.00 per hour, based on experience.
Responsibilities:
Accurately perform basic vehicle services and repairs effectively and efficiently in accordance with Monro standards of operation.
Tire Services - perform wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, changing, mounting, installation and TPMS service and repair.
Vehicle Services - perform lubrications, oil changes, basic maintenance (e.g.: bulb, wiper blade and filter replacements, etc.), battery testing and installations.
Consistently complete Monro's Courtesy Inspection process, on every guest vehicle, identifying, documenting, and communicating additional needed services and repairs.
Assist in inventory management to include pulling tires and parts, unloading and stocking inventory.
Assist with all general store duties, ensuring the store is in excellent condition and maintained to Monro standards for cleanliness and consistently in guest ready condition.
Consistently perform service(s) in accordance with Monro's safety standards including but not limited to Monro's Wheel Torque, Oil safety and compliance procedures.
Test drive vehicles in accordance with Monro's Road Test policy, including consistently utilizing our dedicated test drive routes, while observing all local traffic and safety laws.
Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures, Governmental standards including environmental codes and ANSI/OSHA standards. Consistent use of all required safety standards set forth in training and policies and procedures.
Maintain technical knowledge and capabilities to ensure proficiency through the timely completion of all required Monro University training courses and modules.
Operate, utilize, and maintain all equipment in a safe manner in accordance with Monro and equipment manufacturer guidelines including but not limited to lifts, welders, brake lathes, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned and required.

JOB SUMMARY
The Welder Repair & ServiceTechnician's primary function is to provide technical service, support and expertise for metalworking equipment for existing and potential Arc3 customers and Arc3's salesforce.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Possess a comprehensive knowledge of the welding and metalworking equipment Arc3 sells, how the equipment functions, how to troubleshoot and effectively repair it, and how Arc3's customers use the equipment so you can optimize that usage and earn “trusted expert” status.
Utilize strong product knowledge, technical, sales, and self-management skills to deliver exceptional value and a superior customer experience.
Help Arc3's customers generally improve their business operations by ensuring that their equipment is performing at optimal levels.
Continuously diagnose customer needs and expectations (i.e., product orders, potential sales, service issues, technical support needs) and share that vital information with appropriate Arc3 personnel.
Act with integrity and a sense of urgency, being reliable and persistent, and building long-term customer relationships.
Step in and perform any job to ensure uninterrupted, exceptional customer service, including assisting customers in the branch, as needed.
Always maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
Maximize product knowledge and remain aware of industry trends.
Optimize repair and maintenance skills through continuous training as determined by you and your supervisor, including training at equipment manufacturer sites.
Maintain CST (Certified ServiceTechnician) status through ongoing training with the major brands Arc3 represents after one year hands on training and supervision from current Arc3 staff.
Travel to designated branches weekly and make customer service calls as scheduled.
Be proficient at working with various tools and instruments including laptop interfaces, smart phone interfaces, voltage/multimeters, etc.
Always strictly follow Arc3's and its customers' safety policies and procedures, including OSHA's Lockout/Tagout procedures, and never risk your own or others' safety.
Troubleshoot, repair, and/or service Arc3-owned welding equipment, ironworkers, saws, cutting machines, etc.
Assist branches in assembling, installing, and delivering welding and metalworking equipment as needed.
Maintain and clean your service shop regularly.
Participate in inventory counts as needed.
On occasion, serve as back-up driver for inter-store needs.
Perform basic vehicle maintenance for Arc3 fleet.
Maintain all company required paperwork.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Technical education preferred. Examples include welding engineering technician degrees, or other related engineering degrees, electronics or electrical degrees.
Certified ServiceTechnician certified preferred.
Minimum 2 years of mechanical, electrical, or electronics experience required.
Reading and understanding wiring diagrams and electrical schematics preferred.
Experience repairing pneumatic or hydraulic equipment preferred.
Experience interacting directly with customers required.
Good communication skills for planning and coordinating repair projects.
Good driving record required.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent sitting, using arms and hands, seeing, hearing, reading, walking, driving.
Frequent lifting and moving.
Occasional handling of heavy materials (cylinders, boxes, etc.) up to 150 pounds, with or without accommodation.
Service shop, retail store, and gas distribution plant environments.
Daily driving to and from branch locations.
