The "B" Level ServiceTechnician has the responsibility of understanding and completing routine repairs necessary for the repair of customer vehicles. This individual will perform general repairs and diagnosis with some assistance. These repairs include but are not limited to light engine work, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, electrical systems (starters and alternators) HVAC systems, steering & suspension systems. This individual will have a majority of their manufacture certifications.
Make accurate use of the multi-point inspection form on each vehicle
Document all work performed and recommended on assigned repair order
Communicate with service advisor when additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
Maintain technician proficiency as specified by Asbury standards
Conduct road test to determine work needed and to confirm work was successfully completed when necessary and practical
Perform all levels of diagnosis and repair on vehicles
Perform all levels of preventive/routine maintenance services
Utilize product and technical training as assigned by the manufacturer and management
Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and schools to continuously expand your knowledge of new technology
Maintain manufacturer (CSI) Customer Satisfaction Index at or above the Asbury specified goal(s) in service for district, regional and national scores
Complete the work, notations and time-keeping necessary to the successful completion of warranty repair orders and the filing of warranty claims
Report to management any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers or employees
Take care to ensure that customer's vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced
Understand and complete required training for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
Comply with all federal, state and local laws, as well as company policy, regarding safeguarding all customer vehicles, property and information
ASE certifications heavily preferred
Manufacturer certifications heavily preferred
Previous automotive technician experience required
Must have basic tools
Must have great technical and mechanical skills
Must be a team player and have the ability to work repetitively on complex tasks
Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age
Must have a valid driver's license

In this position, you will be responsible for a wide range of service-related functions, including the repair, maintenance, installation, and after-hours phone support for Shimadzu products.
JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Provide daily repair, maintenance, calibration and installation support for physical measurement instruments.
Perform in-house bench repairs as needed while primarily handling field service calls with limited supervision.
Travel within the local region and other regions if needed (including day and overnight trips) to support customer needs.
Offer technical support via phone to customers and field personnel regarding repairs, maintenance and installations.

Compensation & Benefits:

Additional variable compensation includes an incentive plan based on company and service performance, paid semi-annually in April and October. A year-end discretionary bonus may also be awarded based on overall company performance.
This position includes a company car with a fuel card (with a $55 per pay deduction for personal use) and a company-paid cell phone, which remains company property but can be used for personal purposes.

Summary Objective

Work Environment
Most work is performed in a production fabrication shop environment with exposure to loud machinery, welding equipment, grinders, and cutting tools. Presence of metal dust, fumes, and sharp materials; proper ventilation and PPE (personal protective equipment) are mandatory. Standing, bending, lifting, and moving heavy materials for extended periods. Temperature fluctuations depend on season and equipment usage; some areas may be hot due to operational needs.

* Read Prints and Maps: Examine Splice Matrix and redline maps to understand fiber routes and assignments.
* Splice off color and multiple cables in one enclosure.
* Jumping Trays: Routing fibers from one tray to another, possibly to optimize cable management, minimize signal loss, or create efficient pathways within the enclosure.
* Splice Tie Point and Jumper Cases: Splicing fibers at a tie point involves connecting fibers from different cables.
* Connect Jumper cables between jumper cases.
* Rehab gel-filles cases: The process of refurbishing or rehabilitating gel-filled enclosures used in fiber optic networks.
* Redlining and Documentation: Marking up or annotating existing drawings or documents with changes, updates, or corrections.
* Case swaps and audits: Replacing one equipment case or enclosure with another.
* Troubleshooting: Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues that can affect the performance and reliability of the network.
* May pull cable through existing duct package, pull cable through conduit either manually, blowing, or mechanically, and splice and activate underground and aerial lines.
