GENERAL DESCRIPTION This is a technical position responsible for assisting with the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of 177 waste water lift station equipment. Work is performed under close supervision with a focus on learning safe work practices, developing technical skills, and supporting the overall operation of the City's lift station system. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Utility Maintenance Mechanic & Supervisor. Job Description GENERAL DESCRIPTION This is a technical position responsible for assisting with the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of 177 waste water lift station equipment. Work is performed under close supervision with a focus on learning safe work practices, developing technical skills, and supporting the overall operation of the City's lift station system. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Utility Maintenance Mechanic & Supervisor. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS The following essential functions represent the primary duties of this position, but should not be considered an all-inclusive list of responsibilities. Other duties may be required and assigned as needed. Technical Duties: Assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of lift station pumps, motors, and equipment. Perform basic inspections and report abnormal conditions to senior staff. Support pump removal/installation and site cleaning using basic hand tools and equipment. Learn and follow confined space entry procedures and other safety protocols. Maintain work areas, tools, and vehicles in a clean and organized condition. Assist in maintaining proper documentation of lift station activities. Training & Development Duties: Participate in on-the-job training to learn about lift station systems, equipment, SCADA monitoring, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations and procedures. Learn proper use of heavy equipment and safety gear under supervision. Work alongside experienced Lift Station Mechanics to gain troubleshooting and repair skills.
