Responsibilities:
This position is responsible to assist in the repair and overhaul equipment, refrigeration, heating and ventilation equipment to ensure customer needs are met efficiently, accurately and on-time.
Provides service to the customer base by repairing and overhauling equipment, such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devices in a safe, efficient and timely manner that exceeds customers' expectations
Provides general repair work on refrigeration, heating and ventilation equipment, such as air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors and electric motors in a safe and timely manner.
Provides preventative maintenance activities for customers by diagnosing equipment malfunction and any operating deficiency of the mechanical equipment to ensure quality work performance for the customer base.
Provides department support by processing job tickets, work orders to the necessary department in a timely manner.
Provides necessary training to new or less qualified technicians as needed.
Perform work on minor construction and remodeling projects including startups of new installations.
Drives company vehicle in a safe manner.
Performs other related duties and projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED.
EPA certification.
Certification from an accredited vocational-technical or trade school a plus.
Good driving record.

Responsibilities

The Field Service Technician is primarily responsible for scheduled and remedial (break-fix) service on Small to Medium UPS, Power Distribution Units & Battery system products (2-120KVA) serviced by Vertiv, commensurate with appropriate classroom and on-the-job training. The installation technician ensures proper and safe installation of all equipment. MUST PROVIDE OWN TOOLS. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Serving the company's clients through expert installation of replacement systems. Replacements represent ____% of the company's total business and therefore it is imperative that the company has an excellent reputation for quality installations. Take pride in every installation that you do. Let the client know what you did for them that other companies don't usually do. Show the client through the quality of your work that your company offers superior service and quality.
Wear floor savers while in the client's home. Use drop cloths to protect the client's floors while performing an installation. Always maintain a neat work area where you are working.
Re-check each aspect of an installation before leaving the job to prevent unnecessary callbacks after the job is finished. Use the
Installation Excellence Form
for re-checking.
Always explain the system to the client when finished with an installation and make sure that they are 100% satisfied with the work.
Always be safety conscious both on the job and while driving, and make sure that the assistant installer is also working safely and neatly.
Maintain a production level minimum as determined by management and the annual plan.
Perform full system change-outs in an average of one day or less.
Trucks must be neat and clean on the inside and outside at all times. The truck is one of the best billboards that the company has. Park the truck for the maximum impact of the “billboard” when possible.
Train installation assistants, teaching them to work independently for maximum installation efficiency.
Fill out installation paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.

Performs applied failure analysis on engine failure.
Works directly with Technical Communicators and CAT to resolve a complex engine issue including Tier 4 related items.
Electrical, Hydraulics, HVAC, and Cab
Understands, tests, and repairs complex electrical systems. Includes but is not limited to Deutsch and Ampseal Connectors, 6/12/24 battery voltage systems, monitor interfaces, and repair/replace varies harness types.
Troubleshoots and repairs HVAC systems to include evacuating, recharging, and replacing components when required.
Builds and designs complete custom electrical circuits.
Undercarriage
Troubleshoots and repair of various frame and suspension systems including tracks, track pads, drive sprockets, and idlers.
Continued Development
Participates in continued education and training initiatives as outlined in the Western States Equipment Technician Career Development Plan. (TCDP)
Utilizes service manuals (STW, SIS and parts books) to address technical issues and perform all required tasks within technician level abilities, in accordance to printed procedures.
Utilizes parts reusability guidelines.
Completes actual service reports for files and warranty purposes using STW for timely work order closing.
Addresses all inquiries in a prompt and friendly manner in an effort to meet or exceed internal/external client expectations.
Performs other duties as assigned while developing a mindset for technician productivity.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to navigate Microsoft products.
Ability to obtain job related certifications for any specialty equipment such as but not limited to dyno testing, forklifts, rigging and overhead cranes, etc.
General knowledge of manufacturer specific software. (SIS, ET, and STW)
