Field Service Technician provides technical service and support for customers who own and operate Evergreen filling machines. The technician is trained and knowledgeable to install, inspect, troubleshoot and service this equipment. The technician also trains the customer's personnel on proper operating and maintenance techniques to ensure good packing outputs.
· Conducts/controls service activities as assigned to ensure timely customer support and safety are achieved while meeting the budgeted goals and objectives for productivity and utilization.
· Communicates well with central scheduling, management, other departments and customers.
· Functions as the equipment service technician within the departmental advising EPE service management and/or engineering of any problems or situations with models of current or modified design.
· Provides learning experience for both customer and EPE plant personnel on machine operation.
· Learns and grows skill sets and competencies to achieve both business and personal development objectives.

Requirements:

Position Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and safety of all departmental equipment and operations. The role will focus on setting up, maintaining, troubleshooting, fabrication, and overhauling equipment, as well as supporting related mechanical systems across the facility.
Primary job duties would include:
Build, install, maintain, and overhaul all equipment, including pipe systems and all machinery.
Troubleshoot issues by observing mechanical systems and testing and measuring equipment to determine the root cause and corrective action.
Review materials and parts, submitting requisitions as necessary.
Test and time machinery.
Lay out and work from blueprints, diagrams, sketches, drawings, etc.
Position, align, and anchor machinery.
Cut and form parts and assemble parts to construct machinery and equipment.
Weld, including Heli arc and stainless steel.
Operate a forklift as needed.
Perform tasks such as oiling, greasing, painting, and cleaning.
Assist other mechanics with general maintenance tasks outside of department-specific work.
Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping in the work area/department.
Understand, use, and follow safety policies and procedures including use of PPE and lock out tag out.
Execute tasks independently and safely without direct supervision.
Operate and maintain computerized equipment and machinery when required.
Ensure compliance with all food safety, quality, and company standards.
Maintain accurate maintenance, time, production records as required.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, efficiency, and sanitation.
Communicate effectively in English (verbal and written) with supervisory and production teams.
Supervise or provide relief for other roles as needed, including supervisors, machine operators, and crews.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Satisfactory completion of a related educational certificate, program or degree; and/or comparable work experience, plus formal training in this area; and a fundamental mechanical aptitude, which may be assessed by a practical exam.
Three or more years of experience as an industrial mechanic, preferably in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
Utilize communication skills to interact with colleagues and internal customers.
Reliable and able to maintain excellent attendance.
Mechanical aptitude and ability, including using power and hand tools.
Demonstrated proficiency in several of the following skills: welding, lift truck mechanics, plumbing/pipefitting, heating/air conditioning systems, boiler care and maintenance, instrument repair, machine adjustment and repair, and carpentry.
Certified to operate a lift truck operator or able to become such.
Able to work overtime and weekends as required

Position purpose
The Technician Apprentice functions as a representative of Home Detail Services LLC and is responsible for performing gutter cleaning, window cleaning, solar panel cleaning, and Christmas lighting.

Compensation package
The Technician Apprentice will start at $22/hour as an assistant to the Crew leader with a possibility to receive greater compensation based on performance. The compensation range for this role depends on if the Technician Apprentice works part time (as few as 4 hours per week) or full time (up to 40 hours per week) and may range from $4,576 to $45,760 per year, accordingly, before performance bonuses. Based on work experience and performance, other aspects of the compensation package include:

Essential job functions
Clean gutters, clean windows, clean solar panels, and install & remove Christmas lighting.
Provide good customer service
Identify challenges with the performance of the job, refer to training materials for solutions, and implement proper solutions

Essential physical functions
The Technician Apprentice must be able to do the following physical tasks:
Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
Climbing and carrying a ladder
Stand, walk, reach, balance, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Vision abilities require driving, as well as close reading
Work in a variety of weather conditions, besides snow, including both hot and wet conditions such as over 100 Fahrenheit heat in the Summer and rain in the Winter
Essential mental functions
The Technician Apprentice works in a self-governing environment. The Technician Apprentice must be able to follow a set of procedures, sustain concentration while multitasking, and be detail oriented. The Technician Apprentice may also need to have the ability to do math (equations, multiplying and dividing, spreadsheets, forecasting), interact with other people, and present to an audience.
