Diving Into the Values at ServiceCore
The company's purpose, the reasoning behind its existence, is to create simple software that helps companies in the liquid waste industry and roll-off rental companies easily manage their schedules, routes, customers, inventory (and more) to save time and maximize profit.
With a goal that's easy to understand and accomplish, ServiceCore strives to foster an environment that is friendly and collaborative so employees have a healthy space to work. In turn, the team is consistently aiming to build a better product and company that they take pride in. To be apart of this environment has proven to be very rewarding for so many.
The Culture at ServiceCore
A Company Dedicated to Employees
Every day starts off the same at ServiceCore. The Dev Team hosts a standup so anyone can voice their concerns or give feedback on projects. This is a space for team members to divulge whether there is anything blocking or impeding their project. Then the same type of meeting follows for customer support, marketing and the product development team.
For one employee (Laura who is part of the Product team), the afternoons are dedicated to working on design projects or CS-related tasks. She also focuses on training new hires about any new tools that are being used in the company. Then it's closing time. You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here.
The company has built a welcoming and friendly culture that promotes learning. From Day 1, employees have opportunities to continue their knowledge through training sessions. The first-day training session is important because it sets the new hires up for success. After a few weeks, that's when more experienced employees, like Laura, take over. These employees mentor new hires on best practices and how to create lasting wins.
The Professional Development at ServiceCore
Taking Training to the Next Level
When it comes to advancing your career, ServiceCore is all over it. Aside from setting you up for success on your first day, the company continually offers training throughout your career. Once you're up-to-speed on the company and no longer considered a newbie, you're introduced to product training.
This training will support you in learning about the company's niche industry. You'll spend a few weeks following senior sales reps around and getting experience in doing mock calls. Once you're a representative, you'll be coached on how to answer industry and product objections.
Throughout your career with ServiceCore, you'll be provided ongoing training that includes expanding your knowledge and skills on prospecting, negotiating and closing. The team learns from lost deals together and shares knowledge to help professional growth even further. The senior representatives are a major help when it comes to overcoming common objections.
"I am a strong believer in leading from the front for my CS team," said Cam S., Head Of Customer Success. "Being that we are the user-facing group for our accounts, being a resource for my team at every turn that they need me is critical. Besides physically sitting with them, I also conduct weekly meetings to discuss hot topics, provide the necessary coaching and help them remove blockers."
The Benefits at ServiceCore
More Than Just a Job
"In addition to our official titles, we're a motley bunch of poker pros, rugby players, sneaker-heads, skiers/boarders, film buffs, musicians, hikers, and everything in between," said Andy G., Engineering. "Our fridge is usually stocked with equal parts seltzer water and cold beer. And we play a healthy amount of Super Smash Bros."
The company is focused on providing an environment where employees can thrive, and that includes providing the best of the best benefits. The company also hosts weekly meetings so every team can give updates on their projects, discuss highlights from the week and give kudos to team members outside of their department. The company has found that this tradition cultivates a team culture that is both supportive and collaborative. The benefits that are offered include:
The perk that isn't reflected in this list is the friends and family that you'll gain from working at ServiceCore. ServiceCore is more than just a job. It's an opportunity to be accepted as you are, to share ideas, to grow and to succeed.
