SUMMARY: AFH Caregivers work directly with our residents to teach important life skills, including independent living skills, community integration, activities of daily living (ADLs), social and communication skills, and behavior modification. REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must demonstrate behavioral skills and judgment conducive to role modeling appropriate skills for residents.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
GENERAL HOURS OF DUTY: Part Time, 9AM - 3PM, Monday through Thursday
JOB DUTIES:
Provide supervision of residents of group homes.
Assist the residents with personal care, including, but not limited to, all or some of the following: bathing, grooming, fingernail/toenail care, and brushing teeth.
Ensure residents take prescribed medications, including administering medications, as needed.
Help each resident reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence.
Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete on their own.
Perform minimal maintenance duties as necessary (i.e.-plunging a toilet, changing a light bulb, etc.)
Implement treatment as outlined in each resident's Individualized Service Plan (ISP).
Transporting residents to activities as needed.
Attend and participate in scheduled community outings during the scheduled shift
Prepare meals for residents and assist in teaching residents how to prepare meals
Complete daily resident documentation by the end of each shift.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Life Skills Coach position is a key role in which staff train students to live more independently. You will work in a college residential setting after classes and on weekends to teach real-life skills and promote a fun college experience for the students.
Options for full-time hours, part-time hours, weekend-only, or coverage-only. There is plenty of flexibility to find a schedule that works with your other life commitments. Work 1-5 shifts per week or just part-time casual.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support students with IDD in a college residential setting at an 8:1 student-to-staff ratio

The ADC Lead Direct Support Professional is responsible for assisting participants with activities of daily living (ADL's), including group and individual tasks, while maintaining a safe, supportive and comfortable program environment. HOURS
We have two different shifts available for weekends. These options are full-time with a starting pay of $22/hr. The two shifts include:
Friday - Sunday from 8:30 am to 9:00 pm
Friday from 3:00 pm to 11 pm, Sat & Sun from 8:00 am to 10:30 pm

Chileda's mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with cognitive and behavior challenges. We aim to help students increase their appropriate social behaviors and develop independent living skills, through an enriched learning environment and individualized behavior programming. Our DSP's play a
vital role
in helping our students and residents meet their treatment and program goals and gain important life skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be at least 18 years old
Behavioral skills and judgment conducive to role modeling appropriate skills for students
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus
JOB DUTIES:
Use a Trauma Informed Approach by communicating with and about students in a respectful, positive, and age- appropriate manner while consistently using a therapeutic tone even in high stress situations.
Encourage individuality of students by allowing self-expression and opportunities to make choices throughout their day.
Record behavior data, goals and communication logs of all assigned students, and complete Emergency Intervention Forms (EIFs), Incident Reports (IRs), and/or Employee Accident Reports.
Communicate with house/classroom leads when there is an incident or emergency intervention.
Participate in debriefing and check out with house lead or classroom prior to leaving before your shift, ensuring all chores, data, and forms are completed.
Review expectations with students prior to transitions, activities, or events.
Help students to understand their rights by offering opportunities for self-advocacy.
Use Crisis management techniques taught in trainings including verbal de-escalation, creative redirection, topic changes, and allowing space and time for processing during a crisis.

GENERAL HOURS OF DUTY:
DSPs work every other weekend in addition to week days.
We have full or part time openings.
DSPs work rotating holidays and overtime as approved.
DSPs will work collaboratively with the Scheduler and Shift Manager to coordinate schedules. Shifts are scheduled in a two-week period and repeat after those two weeks (i.e week 1 schedule, week 2 schedule, repeat).
Shift lengths and times may vary.
