The salary range for this position is based on experience, education, and/or licensure: Dependently Licensed: $70,000-$74,295.45/year Independently Licensed: $80,000-84,909.08/year Essential Functions: Provide direct clinical treatment using the I-FAST model and principles, including but not limited to leveraging strengths and focusing on the positive, understanding frames and patterns, and increasing mature behavior. Conduct a thorough assessment of the client and family that gathers information on behaviors of concern and strengths in the family and their ecology to inform conceptualization of the problem behaviors and interactions within the family's ecological context. Works with families to define cultural factors that influence strengths, functioning, and family behaviors to ensure ongoing engagement and success in care. Provide individual and family psychotherapy services that support the identified needs. Develop collaborative and creative partnerships with community resources to meet the needs of each family. Continuously work to engage the primary caregiver, family members, supports, and community agency staff (school, probation, child welfare) in change-oriented treatment. Dedicate time to weekly case planning and evaluation of case progress, with ongoing support from your supervisor and team members. Receive regular training, professional development, supervision, and consultation activities designed to help you acquire extensive clinical skills within the I-FAST model. Work collaboratively with the team to ensure that clients have access to support 24 hours/day, 7 days/week as needed. Maintains necessary documentation, participates in program evaluation, attends team and program planning meetings, and cross-systems training, and acquires knowledge of community resources. Meets billing productivity requirements established by Integrated Services for Behavioral Health. Other duties as assigned. Services include individual therapy, family systems interventions and care coordination. We offer flexible day and evening hours as well as the ability to schedule your own cases, choose how many cases you wish to see and manage your own caseload with the support of an on-site supervisor. As the Outpatient Therapist, you will also receive all required supervision hours toward independent licensure for free. This is a part-time position with a schedule of 15-28 hours/week. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE Provide individual therapy, parent guidance and family interventions to assigned clients and families. Gather clinical information in the initial mental health assessment interview and during ongoing treatment contacts. Identify client needs for additional services and refers them appropriately. Collaborate with the client and family and develop focused, measurable and achievable service plans that reflect the individual needs of the client. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation. Work a varied schedule to meet client and agency needs. SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM Heartland Family Service operates a residential-based crisis stabilization service, Crisis Stabilization and Resource Center (CSRC). The CSRC is a voluntary 3-to-5-day stabilization program and with limited respite bed availability for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis that offers a safe, secure environment with daily access to therapy, medication management, case management services, and outpatient resources designed to stabilize the individual and assist them in returning to the community where they live. SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position functions as a fully integrated team member of the residential-based crisis stabilization team. Diverse therapeutic responsibilities that include assessment, crisis intervention, individual therapy, and goal planning are pivotal in this role; as well as ability to work with a diverse population of clients with co-occurring disorders utilizing evidenced-based practices. Decision making, problem solving, and highly developed interpersonal skills are critical. Utilizes evidence-based practice models to provide therapeutic services to adults experiencing a mental health crisis. Job duties focus heavily on crisis intervention, de-escalation, and stabilization. Conducts an adult mental health assessment within 24 hours of crisis client program admission. Establishes a stabilization plan with the client, which specifies immediate treatment needs and follow-up. Facilitates daily individual and/or group therapy sessions. Maintains clinical records including client stabilization plan, client progress updates, therapy notes, and a treatment summary meeting established standards of timeliness and completeness. Provide support and consultation to team members and client family members. Trains direct care staff in therapeutic interventions and tools available to work with clients in crisis. Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance. Refers to other Heartland Family Service programs and other community services, as necessary, either concurrent with services or for aftercare. Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the Agency. Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff. Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements. Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training opportunities including printed material and audio and/or visual media. Creates, maintains, and shares an appropriate and dynamic self-care plan. Strives to make connections between the agency and the larger community whenever possible in order to contribute to the agency's ongoing fundraising and friend-raising efforts.
