1987 Birth of the Food Bank Secured nonprofit status; previously a project of the San Francisco Council of Churches

1989

1989 Food Distribution = 2.3 Million Pounds Paul Ash joined as executive director; Provided emergency food after the Loma Prieta Earthquake

1998

1998 The Pantry Network Introduced Pantry Network to reach neighborhoods with the greatest need.

2000

2000 Farm to Family Initiated direct relationships with farmers and packers, greatly increasing distribution of fresh produce
