As part of one of the larger community college systems in the country,
Shasta College has numerous academic opportunities. Among them is a
program that allows Shasta students to earn a bachelor's and even a
master's degree. Associate's degrees are awarded in such fields as Business, Agriculture,
Social Sciences, and Liberal and Fine Arts. Healthcare degrees are
granted in such fields as Nursing, Vocational Nursing, Dental Hygiene and
Home Health professions. Shasta also has a highly innovative program that allows students to
attend Shasta while earning an advanced degree through Chico State
University. This partnership program with Chico State allows students to
pursue bachelor's degrees in Business Administration, Liberal Studies and
Sociology, among others. Master's degrees are also awarded through the
Chico State program in such fields as Nursing and Social Work. Students who wish to earn their bachelor's degree elsewhere or in a
subject not offered at Shasta may also transfer to universities and
colleges throughout the state and beyond, which many do. Enrichment opportunities also abound at Shasta. In addition to
recreational activities such as hiking afforded by Shasta's natural
surroundings, there are on-campus student activities. Performing arts
opportunities and numerous student clubs and organizations are some
examples. Student services include tutoring, disability support, career and
personal counseling and health and wellness services. Since Shasta also
participates in programs with numerous state and other organizations such
as CalWorks, students from certain populations may also receive
additional assistance, both financial and otherwise, when embarking on
their education. Admission is open to anyone with a high school diploma or GED and tuition
is significantly lower for California residents. Students may also apply
