Job Description The Water Treatment Plant Operator will: * Ensure compliance with division's policies and procedures, standards of quality and safety, and all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations * Attend all required training and acquires CEUs to maintain Physical/Chemical Wastewater Operator license * Adhere to safety culture and follows procedures to ensure safe working environment * Report any safety hazards promptly that cannot be corrected or mitigated at individual level * Adjust biological, chemical and/or physical processes to ensure plant is operating properly * Troubleshoot the plant when there are operational upsets * Run control system in accordance with supervisory guidelines to achieve discharge quality and volume requirements * Assist with or directly performs in field maintenance as needed on pumps/valving/equipment * Perform shift inspections and reports aberrations promptly to supervision if unable to correct * Perform routine measurements and records results through spreadsheets and communicates via email * Use mobile equipment as necessary for transporting reagent totes/skids * Perform all other duties as may be assigned to meet organizational needs Physical Requirements: * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear, and see. * Must be able to work shift work with 12-hour shifts on a rotating day and night schedule. * Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday. * Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity. * Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
