Our Irvine based team is currently looking to add a Estimator with experience supporting work in the greater Los Angeles market. Shawmut performs work in several sectors and you will have the opportunity to work across a variety of projects including but not limited to the following: Education, Commercial, Corporate Interiors, Life Sciences, Hospitality, Retail and Sports Venues Responsibilities * Work in partnership with the project manager to plan the job prior to project initiation i.e. general conditions study, procurement schedule, logistics, etc * Develop comprehensive understanding of project strategy and deploy this throughout the estimating process * Establish the pre-construction budget and manage the associated funds * Ensures that the best bids are obtained for each trade, based on the needs of the project * Structure a fair and comprehensive final sub bid process by incorporating all information from previous budgets, by educating all subs on the Shawmut view of the project, including, but not limited to detailed written scope of work, logistics, etc., so that they are all bidding on the same work * Present information and proposals effectively to clients based on their needs and preferences Qualifications * 5+ years experience in construction estimating. * Expereience estimating in one or more of our sectors: Education, Commercial, Corporate Interiors, Life Sciences, Hospitality, Retail and Sports Venues * Vast knowledge of all trades: scope, time-frames/field execution, typical missed scope/exposures and an understanding of MEP systems and components * Knowledge of contract types and deal structures * Solid conceptual estimating experience * Must reside in greater LA or Orange County and flexible with required business travel Los Angeles Base Salary Range: $115,000 - $155,000 The range stated is specific to Los Angeles.     Job Title: Concrete Estimator Department: Preconstruction / Estimating Reports To: Estimating Manager or Preconstruction Manager The Concrete Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for concrete work on commercial, industrial, and/or residential construction projects. The Senior Estimator is responsible for all aspects of estimating the most complex and large-scale jobs, including pre-construction, hard bids, negotiated bids, budgets, general conditions, systems studies and comparisons, value engineering, subcontractor relations and staying abreast of industry developments applicable to estimating.
