I liked the environment Shea provided. It was diverse, relaxed, and everyone seemed happy to be there. I enjoyed going to work (most days).
There is a lot of deadweight. As in people who should be fired.
The insurance coverage and annual bonuses.
Peter Shea Jr is a great guy. He is authentic and ambitious . He is firm with his decisions but is always open to other ideas.
I would improve Shea homes by firing a lot of people. It would improve margins and useful employees would be paid more
I prepared for the interview by listening to public homebuilders earnings calls. It helped me understand what goes on internally.
Training and On-boarding. The product they are selling was well done.
The commute. The lack of management for employees that have tenure. A few CSR’s that had been there the longest showed lack of leadership & were not kind or helpful to others.
Not being micromanaged & having flexibility.
