Sheboygan Senior Community company history timeline
In 1966, a four apartment home was purchased, bringing the total number of apartments to 14.
Also in 1966, our Articles of Incorporation were amended, changing the corporate name from Sheboygan Methodist Home for the Aged to Sheboygan Retirement Home, Inc.
In May 2006, construction began on the independent living condo association, Landmark Square.
Tragedy struck when an arsonist set the nearly completed Landmark Square condos on fire in 2007.
Landmark was finally completed on May 1, 2008 and opened its doors as Sheboygan’s newest independent living facility for seniors.
Beginning in the winter of 2010, SSC began strategic planning for a replacement facility for the aging building off 6th.
At the end of June 2014, construction began on our current building.
Spring 2018 strategic planning began for our upcoming memory care building and campus vision.
May 2019, SSC rebranded to remain Sheboygan Senior Community, but to go by SSC for short.
