Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform de-parting operations using grinders, sanders, hand tools, and deburring machines. Inspect raw and finished parts to identify burrs, rough edges, and surface defects. Interpret work orders, blueprints, and shop travelers to confirm material, tolerances, and finishing requirements. Occasionally use measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify part accuracy. Ensure all edges, holes, and cut features are properly finished according to customer specifications. Operate machinery such as: Angle grinders, orbital sanders, dynafiles Manual or automated deburring tools Assist with part handling, staging, and packaging to avoid damage post-finishing. Maintain clean and organized work area; follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements. Collaborate with laser operators, machinists, welders, and quality inspectors to resolve finishing issues. Document completed work and report deviations or nonconforming materials Qualifications Previous experience in metal fabrication, machine shop, or similar industrial environment preferred. Bonus ability to read and understand basic mechanical drawings. Proficiency with hand tools and finishing equipment. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent quality.
