Job Description

The Maintenance Trades Helper assists one or more workers in the skilled sheet metal trade by performing tasks and duties such as

+ Assisting senior employees in operation of CNC Punch Press, Waterjet Cutting Center, and Press Brakes to fabricate sheet metal products.

+ Keeping other employees in department supplied with materials and tools.

+ Cleaning of work areas, machines, and equipment.

+ Assisting skilled senior employees by holding materials or tools.

Duties include:

+ Cutting of sheets & blanks for shop machinery

+ Operating such as, CNC Punch Press, Waterjet Cutting Center, Press brakes, Presses, shears, hand brakes, rollers

+ Break-out of parts off Punch Press & Waterjet

+ Deburr and cleanup of parts, this includes

+ Blueprint reading

+ Grinding of aluminum and steel

+ Sanding of aluminum and steel

+ Drilling holes to size

Delivery of parts to other departments and areas of facility

Moving and organizing of sheet metal material racks

Must be a U.S. Citizen

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $16.00 - $24.00, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Role and Responsibilities

The essential roles and responsibilities are outlined below:

• Assist with general work activities per the direction of others to complete the activities.
• Support the mechanic, foreman, and superintendent to complete the project on time.
• Provide the best quality and productive work without constant reminders.
• Communicate with management, superintendent, and customers.
• Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time

Qualifications and Requirements

Must be able to work a flexible schedule-days, nights, and some weekends.

• Vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Material Handling: frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. and constant lifting to 25 lbs., placing this position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC)
• Required Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
