+ Performs sheetmetal maintenance, repair, modifications and other maintenance of aircraft, components and related equipment. + Plans, fabricates, assembles, installs and repairs sheetmetal parts, equipment and products, while utilizing knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and nonmetallic materials, machining, and layout techniques.
+ Lays out patterns, shapes, and fabricates sheetmetal.
+ Installs a variety of fasteners in the repair and maintenance of aircraft.
+ Safely operates such equipment as sheetmetal forming machines, breaks, shears, cutters and crimpers. Verifies that all calibrated tooling is current on its calibration before use. Verifies materials and parts used are of a serviceable condition and correct effectivity for the aircraft.
+ Performs duties in all areas inside and outside the hangar as well as at the airport terminal.
+ Verifies that each part or component is effective for the aircraft on which it will be installed.
+ Adheres to material handling and control procedures specified in GMM and by the equipment manufacturers. Initiates material requests as needed.
+ Evaluates the area and equipment that will be utilized to ensure that safety is not compromised before performing any maintenance action. Applies safety first at all times.
+ Maintains a clean, safe working environment throughout the work shift.
+ Updates Supervisor on progress of work performed. Reviews paperwork at the end of shift to ensure that all work accomplished is signed for prior to departing the maintenance facility. Assists with completion of shift turnover reports in accordance with procedures in the GMM.
+ Completes all department internal company forms, maintenance records, documents, work orders, etc. including performing maintenance computer system transactions as required (MEL, DMI).
+ Provides coaching and on-the-job training as directed.
+ Adheres to established work schedule. Participates in shift meetings and briefings as required.
+ Submits in writing any suggested changes in operational procedures that will enhance safety and cost effective aircraft maintenance.
+ Accesses Company Intranet to become familiar with and utilize the GMM and aircraft manuals. Ensures part effectivity is correct per aircraft.
+ Adheres to recurrent training, including required FAA AMT training, and keeps necessary licenses and certifications up-to-date.
+ Reads and acknowledges understanding of maintenance newsletters and Company Emails on a timely basis.
+ Performs other duties as assigned or required.
**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**

The assistant works closely with the Panel Shear Operator and production team to support workflow and ensure readiness of materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Material Handling:
Load and unload raw materials, cut panels, and finished goods using forklifts, Combi lifts, and overhead cranes.
Machine Support:
Assist the primary Panel Shear Operator by staging materials, removing scrap, moving cut pieces, and supporting general workflow around the shear.
Equipment Operation:
Operate forklifts, Combi lifts, and overhead cranes safely and efficiently. Maintain active certifications and a proven safe operating history.
Epicor Transactions:
Accurately record material movements, job completions, and inventory usage in the Epicor ERP system to support real-time production and inventory tracking.
Manual Labor:
Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, stacking, material positioning, and general labor as needed.
Workplace Housekeeping:
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Clear debris, clean equipment zones, and follow 5S or related housekeeping standards.
Safety Compliance:
Consistently follow company safety protocols and procedures. Report any unsafe conditions immediately and participate in safety initiatives.
Team Collaboration:
Communicate and coordinate with the Panel Shear Operator and production team to ensure smooth operations and timely job progress. Learn from the operator on how to program cut recipes into the shear.
Quality: Ensure that cuts are made based on the cut recipe worksheet.
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PROFICIENCIES:
Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Current certifications in forklift, Combi lift, and overhead crane operation required.
Demonstrated safe equipment operation history.
Technical Skills:
Basic computer skills and ability to learn ERP software (Epicor preferred).
Understanding of material flow and basic measuring tools.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs regularly.
Stand, walk, bend, and perform manual labor for extended periods.
Comfortable working in an industrial, fast-paced environment.

* Traveling between multiple projects as needed
* Maintaining a clean, safe, and professional jobsite
Commercial HVAC SheetMetal Mechanic Requirements
* 5-10 years of commercial sheetmetal experience required
* Strong experience with rooftops, spiral pipe, and ductwork installation
* Must be able to pass school background checks
* Must be able to gain military airbase access (no felonies)
* Ability to read and follow prints
* Must bring required HVAC/sheetmetal hand tools
* Must have standard PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, work boots)
* OSHA 10 preferred but not required
* Reliable transportation required
* Professional attitude and strong work ethic
