Sheet Metal Journeyman Job Description
These duties are not all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned at any given time, based on the assigned job.
Check drawing for conflict
Understand other trades for coordination
Properly size, cut, insulate and install metal duct runs
Understand kitchen hoods, exhaust, welded ducts and make-up air systems
Able to run an area of a project with little to no supervision along with a level 1 or 2 apprentice.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Display the ability to build a positive team attitude/morale in supporting installers. Create a positive/constructive atmosphere at the job site. Recognize and change, when possible, a poor customer relationship into a positive one.
Able to run small jobs/phase of project with one installer and complete the job at or below budget/completion date
Offer suggestions on value engineering jobs
Maintain an open-minded approach to new ideas
Provide feedback to management for installer evaluations
Be familiar with operation sequence of equipment pertaining to the mechanical trade
Work with project leader to develop an environment of efficiency and continuous improvement
Coach/mentor apprentices 1-4
Develop measurable goals and tasks for installers and helpers
Properly complete time cards weekly

Sheet Metal Journeyman Qualifications
Installers and technicians are subject to work in indoor and outdoor conditions. Those could include, but are not limited to; heat, cold, wind, rain, or snow. Installers and technicians are also subject to work in cramped, tight, dirty spaces or would be required to climb ladders.

What You'll Contribute
In this role, you can expect to:
Serve as the subject matter expert at your branch for all plumbing-related operations
