Description:
As a Structural Technician II, you will be using your skills and expertise to assemble and/or create major assembly structures and minor part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling and reaming. You will be responsible for aligning parts on jigs and aerospace vehicles using templates and fixtures, and measuring parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions. You also may be responsible for modifying incomplete and complete assemblies and incorporating the changes into the structure.

Conditions will vary. Capable of working outdoors and occasionally from elevated work platforms with a fall protection harness and in temperatures ranging from 0-120. Primary Purpose of this position:
Fabricates, assembles, installs and repairs sheet metal products and equipment such as duct work, control boxes, drainpipes, ventilators and furnace casings, according to job order and/or blueprints.
Specific Job Duties:

Determines project requirements, such as scope, assembly sequences, required methods, materials, using blueprints, drawings, written or verbal instructions
Fastens seems or joints together with welds, bolts, cement, rivets, solder, caulks, metal drive clips, or bonds to assemble components to products or to repair sheet metal items
Fabricates ducts for high efficiency heating ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to maximize efficiency of systems
Selects gauges or types of sheet metal or nonmetallic material, according to product specifications
Trains and mentors' helper/trainees
Performs other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibility: No
Required:
3+ years of experience in sheet metal mechanic field; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
Familiarity with ductmate, spiral, slide and drive ductwork
Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail and demonstrate problem-solving skills
Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned

Work Environment:
May work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold and dampness
May work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levels

May be required to work in confined spaces or from high heights
Physical Demands:
This role routinely uses construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools
While performing duties of the job the employee may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
Frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms
Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus
