Requirements:
We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Sheet Metal Journeyman to join our team. The ideal candidate is a skilled tradesperson with strong technical expertise in commercial HVAC systems and the ability to lead, coach, and mentor apprentices from Levels 1 through 4. This role requires a professional who can manage jobsite operations efficiently, uphold company safety and quality standards, and foster the growth of less-experienced team members.
Installation & Fabrication
Measure, fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork and related HVAC components according to project specifications and mechanical drawings.
Install kitchen hoods, exhaust systems, welded ducts, and make-up air systems.
Perform layout and fitting for both standard and custom ductwork applications.
Leadership & Mentorship
Coach, train, and mentor apprentices (Levels 1-4) in proper installation techniques, safety practices, and jobsite professionalism.
Develop and communicate measurable performance goals for apprentices and helpers.
Provide constructive feedback to management regarding apprentice progress and performance.
Lead by example, promoting teamwork, respect, and a positive jobsite culture.
Project Execution
Review blueprints and specifications to identify conflicts or coordination issues with other trades.
Coordinate with project foremen, superintendents, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow and efficient job completion.
Run small projects or phases of larger jobs independently, maintaining quality, schedule, and budget expectations.
Offer input on value engineering opportunities and process improvements.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all company and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
Ensure apprentices and crew members maintain compliance with all safety standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Administrative Tasks
Complete accurate daily and weekly time cards.
Communicate material needs, schedule updates, and job progress to supervisors.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years' experience as a commercial HVAC sheet metal installer or journeyman.
Proven ability to lead and mentor apprentices and promote skill development.
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, blueprint reading, and mechanical drawings.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Aerial Lift Certification (required)
Crane Lift and Rigging Certification (preferred)
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Ability to work in varied conditions (heat, cold, heights, confined spaces, etc.)

SUMMARY
