OVERVIEW Perform daily maintenance tasks, including equipment preventive/predictive maintenance, inspections, and facility maintenance and lead special projects as assigned RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned) * Follow all safety practices and AIB Guidelines. * Conduct monthly preventive maintenance checks and repairs on DC Equipment. * Solve equipment failures during production to reduce lengthy downtime. * Lead special projects to ensure completion in a timely manner * Perform general maintenance duties for warehouse and offices. * Conduct Ammonia Refrigeration System Walk-Through. * Assist members of the maintenance team with any projects as needed. * Complete duties listed on sanitation checklist for that given area. Interview store personnel to determine the need for service; instruct store personnel in proper operational techniques for safe, effective, and efficient operation of their equipment. Train new Service Techs. Work and drive safely, using appropriate safety gear and techniques. Respond to emergency breakdown calls whenever possible. Project a professional image to associates, customers, and others; observe all rules of food safety and hygiene. Perform other duties as directed by Supervision, and as required for the execution of the other responsibilities. Job Requirements: Good judgment, reliability, initiative, tact, integrity, dependability, and quick thinking. Computer literate. Knowledge of MSDS and OSHA; EPA certified (Type I and II) in proper refrigeration practices. Capable of working on roofs scaffolds, and ladders at medium heights (approximately 30'). Good verbal, writing, and reading skills, including the ability to read, interpret, and apply manufacturers' instructions, and communicate with store personnel. Valid driver's license with good driving record; must be insurable. Ability to prioritize multiple demands, and to adjust priorities as conditions dictate. Knowledge of refrigeration systems and service techniques, including troubleshooting, electrical, and brazing skills. Proper use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments common to the trade. Proper food safety techniques for the supermarket industry. People Responsibilities: Directs the activities of trainees when applicable. Qualifications: Post-secondary technical training in job-related discipline. (OR) Five years of experience in maintenance of commercial refrigeration systems. Physical Requirements: Sensory ability to perform responsibilities. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally. Ability to work under extremes of weather, and under conditions of heat, cold, noise, and dust to the extent they are found in the typical supermarket. Ability to work under pressure of time, without direct supervision, and outside of normal working hours (for occasional emergencies). Job Title: Technician 20 Department: Facilities Job Summary: The Technician 20 is responsible completing repairs and maintenance at assigned stores and identifies further recommended actions. Perform specific store repairs, installation, replacement, and maintenance tasks as assigned through the Asset Management System such as (but not limited to) carpentry, minor plumbing (filter changes, water treatment PM, clogs, fixture and sensor replacements), interior and exterior painting, dry wall, tiling, light bulbs, counter tops and cabinets. Ensure repairs are completed within a time specified by priority codes for approximately 10 to 15 primary assigned stores, but not limited to, when special business needs dictate. Visit all stores in their assigned areas on a scheduled basis to keep the assigned equipment clean and in good operating condition. Maintain the integrity of the asset tagging system including tag audits, transferring assets and setting up assets in new and remodeled stores. What You'll be Doing: Perform routine and emergency maintenance (major and minor) of utilities systems in a multi-craft environment including PLC, instrumentation, mechanical and equipment repair. Responsible for Preventative Maintenance (PM) and timely work order completion for complex. Perform routine chemical testing, making necessary operational adjustments to maintain proper operating parameters for cooling tower and boiling water. Monitor complex heating/ventilation system and adjust controls for proper operation. Provide 24/7 automated process monitoring and take appropriate action as needed. Works with the Maintenance Planner to maintain supplies through ordering and receiving chemicals, record usage and interaction with appropriate vendors. Maintain manufacturing and complex equipment by performing Preventative (PM), Predictive (PdM) and Corrective Maintenance to ensure maximum life expectancy of machinery. Mechatronics Certifications for Levels 1-7 completed. 5-7 years of hands-on manufacturing maintenance experience, preferably in a food manufacturing setting. Familiarity with standard mechanical and electrical component maintenance and repair practices; knowledge of and skill with Preventative Maintenance. Skilled and certified in various PLC programming languages. Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience. Knowledge and experience with Safe Quality Foods (SQF), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) and Lean Manufacturing process. Ability to support and work with engineering on projects, equipment design, layout or re-design. Working knowledge of standard mechanical component maintenance and repair practices. Familiar with office technology tools (ex: MS Office). Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Ability to operate basic machining equipment (lathe, mill, drill press). Ability to work collaboratively with Meijer leadership. Understanding computer theory, programmable logic controls (PLC) and experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
