Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and to do this they send out independent contractors. The purpose of the property inspection is:
To verify property occupancy.
To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.
Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
We contract with inspectors at a county level. This means that you would be responsible to complete all inspections in your county. In some cases, you will split the county with another inspector if there is enough volume for two inspectors.
Responsibilities
Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.

Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.

Essential Responsibilities:
Interpret blueprint and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) requirements
Comply to customer specifications and requirements
Use inspection gages such as micrometers, test indicators, Faro Arm, and optical comparator
Inspection with CMM machines / coordinate systems
Complete in-process inspections and final inspections as required
Make mold castings and interpret results using optical comparator
Visual inspection for defects and UVC's
Complete all paperwork, as required, including inspection reports and CMM report review
Qualifications:
5+ years at reading blueprints & GD&T (aerospace preferred)
5+ years of inspection gaging and visual experience (aerospace preferred)
5+ years of manufacturing experience including understanding of document control and job operations
2+ years of coordinate measuring machines / systems is a plus. (Will be trained on the use of a Faro Arm)
Ability to work well with others as a team
Proficient in Microsoft Excel for documenting inspection results
General computer knowledge
Accuracy and attention to detail is highly important
