It’s a good team. I love the benefits and family centered life I have that’s not scrutinized in the office. Everyone works together. And I love using my 15 years of management experience to help and teach others. Not to mention that the oil and gas business is every changing, and I’m constantly learning new things. I feel free to be innovative and share my ideas, with much encouragement and follow-through.
It’s in Midland, TX. It’s not where I want to settle. But more than that, in the oil industry, your job status is ever changing. And the annuall layoffs or every other year layoffs is very stressful. There, ofcourse, is a lot of politics in the office. I’m not a political person. But I’m a workhouse, so I feel a little taken vantage of without the safety of being in the cliche when layoffs come around.during these next few weeks, we will be doing layoffs. But I was able to obtain 7 (excellent) letters of recommendation from other employees throughout Houston and landowners that nobody wants to deal with.. so I feel pretty good about that.
They have excellent benefits! Great healthcare. Great vacation time. And stock options. Sign on bonuses and yearly bonuses (which will not happen this year due to extreme reconstruction throughout the company)
On the whole a lot of autonomy and decision making authority, great integration across departments
A bit slow moving, slow to adapt to changes in society and public opinion
As an expat benefits have been unbelievable, particularly travel budget to take leave!
I liked the hours and the pay. I enjoyed the short commute to work from my home.
I didn't care for the office politics too much, or how you had to know someone to get ahead even a little bit.
I loved the location, near to my house.
I like the late night work flow, it runs smoother than the daytime.
I'm strongly dislike the fatigue from the overwhelming saturation of constant customers.
Everyone's favorite perk/benefit is the day we are all paid on payday.
