Must be available to be on-call for human trafficking emergencies as scheduled. FUNCTION: This position is responsible for responding to hotline and crisis response requests as a part of a 24 hour emergency on call schedule.
Responsibilities
DUTIES:
• Support provision of emergency response and short-term comprehensive care for domestic and LPR victims of sex and labor trafficking identified in by law enforcement, as a part of the court programming with juvenile and adult court justice systems, through social service or health providers, and other identified victims.
o Serving as an initial point of contact and emergency responder for victim services at The Salvation Army.
o Field hotline calls and implement a response.
o Providing rotating 24 hour emergency response and comprehensive initial case management/intake.
o Assessment immediate needs and conduct intakes.
o Assist with the coordination with the Child Advocacy Center, law enforcement, Child Welfare, Juvenile Court, Off the Streets, Municipal Court, Probation Services and other systems and organizations to support the victim in leaving the trafficking
situation and receiving needed services.
o Utilization of Salvation Army and other resources to ensure that the victim's immediate needs are met, including safe temporary housing, clothing, food, medical care and mental health care.
o Development of a safety plan and a service plan in coordination with the victim.
o Limited-time provision of shelter-based/home-based case management to help the client achieve the goals outlined in the service plan. Although plans will vary based on individual needs, these activities may include but are not limited to permanent
housing, legal assistance, working with law enforcement, employment, counseling, linkage to benefits.
o Maintenance of accurate and timely case notes.
o Timely completion of reports.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate's Degree in social service field. Some coursework in social work or a related field preferred.

Provide advocacy and accompaniment for the victim and co-victims (parents, custodians, legal guardians, and spouses) at local emergency and law enforcement departments in Stark, Tuscarawas, and Carroll Counties. Respond promptly to survivors requesting advocacy at medical centers and/or law enforcement agencies. Must maintain advocacy privileges at all partner medical centers and/or law enforcement agencies.
Complete all necessary documentation and reporting forms as required by the agency and funding sources.
Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and practices, as well as safety and security regulations, and maintain client confidentiality for the individuals we assist.
Our ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about the effects of sexual violence on the victim, the family, and the community. They will carry on our mission to promote the healing of individuals impacted by sexual violence and to create social change. This individual will also support and carry out our vision of a community where all people can live free of sexual violence.
Basic Requirements of Advocates:
Bachelor's/Associate Degree in social work, human services, or related field, OR- high school diploma with experience working with crime victims preferred.
Ability to work with moderate supervision and to perform physical requirements of the position, including but not limited to inside sedentary work with occasional standing during hospital accompaniment.
Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance, and regularly provide proof of coverage.
Completion of COMPASS Crisis Intervention training and required training for Ohio's rape crisis centers will be required if not already completed.
This is a part-time, as-needed position. Background checks, including FBI and BCII are required.
