Position: Long Term GSRP Associate Teacher Substitute (Start in January)

JOB GOAL:
Assist the GSRP Teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups, carry out appropriate classroom activities and maintain a disruption-free environment.
As the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) Associate Teacher, your core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Helps the GSRP Teacher collaboratively prepare lesson plans and distribute lesson materials.
Helps the GSRP Teacher collaboratively prepare lesson plans and distribute lesson materials.
Assists the GSRP Teacher in maintaining individual student records when asked.
Assists the GSRP Teacher in keeping the classroom neat, clean and orderly to provide work and study areas conducive to learning.
Effectively implements and uses the Academy-approved screening assessment tool and ongoing developmental assessment and is able to explain and interpret the information for students' parents.
Effectively uses home visits to introduce the program and staff to the parent, develop collaboration for the child's learning, and gather, or report, assessment data.
Carries out other duties assigned by the principal and/or Choice Schools Associates.

Essential Skills and Competencies: While we will consider a broad range of backgrounds, the ideal candidate would have the following qualifications/experience:
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
Preferred Valid Elementary Michigan teaching certificate with ZA endorsement or Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education.
Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or CDA required.
Demonstrated competence as an educator.
Computer literate with excellent verbal and written expression.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Works well in a collaborative environment.
Passion for environmental education preferred.
