Title: BSS Systems Engineer Location: Remote/Hybrid (Office located in Hagerstown, MD) Rate: $85,000-$115,000 annually Full-Time/Part Time: Full-Time Reporting to: Director of BSS Primary Responsibilities Include: Design, configure, and maintain BSS platforms including CRM, billing, product catalog, provisioning, service activation, inventory systems and workflow tools. Integrate internal systems and third-party applications using APIs, webhooks, and middleware and scripts. Automate service provisioning, activation, and billing workflows for broadband, VoIP, and IPTV services. Ensure data integrity and synchronization between CRM, NMS, and billing platforms. Troubleshoot system-level issues and ensure timely resolution. Collaborate with Sr Business Process Manager, Finance, Network Engineering, Network Operations, and Customer Experience and Marketing teams to define and implement business workflows. Participate in vendor evaluations and implementations of BSS tools. Participate in system architecture design, release planning, and performance optimization efforts. Create and maintain system documentation, workflows, data models, and change logs. Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT), change control, and system upgrades. Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolution with vendors as needed. Support reporting and analytics by exposing key system data to BI tools or warehouses. Contribute to cybersecurity compliance and access control settings. You will need to have: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience with BSS/OSS platforms in a telecom or ISP environment. Strong knowledge of provisioning systems (e.g., Symphonic, Alianza, Calix CMS). Hands-on experience with platforms such as Salesforce, Netcracker, Domo, or similar. Experience with IP networking fundamentals and services (DHCP, RADIUS, DNS). Hands-on experience with scripting (Python, Bash, SQL, REST APIs). Strong understanding of data flows and ETL. Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills. Effective cross-functional communication skills. Ability to work across multiple departments and manage competing priorities. Even Better If You Have: Experience with network management systems and monitoring tools. Working knowledge of OSS systems and their interaction with BSS. Knowledge of network topology and service design (PON, DOCSIS). Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker). Familiarity with TM Forum frameworks (eTOM, SID, Open APIs). Working Conditions: Occasional travel may be required for project implementation or vendor meetings. Participation in scheduled maintenance windows and incident response support. The F-35 Mx Sys PMO uses a life-cycle approach for the development, implementation and sustainment of the Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) and Operational Data Integrated Network (ODIN). ALIS/ODIN are large and complex IT systems that integrate functions across the F-35 Air Vehicle System which enable operations, maintenance, repair, and supply support for F-35s operated around the world by the United States Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps as well as Partner Countries and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) countries. The F-35 Mx Sys PMO is the technical authority for the ALIS/ODIN systems and utilizes an established team of resources to provide the overall technical integration of ongoing and future efforts across the ALIS/ODIN systems. The Mx Sys Systems Engineer will be a part of the Mx Sys PMO Engineering team responsible for architecture in alignment with infrastructure, cybersecurity, requirements management, configuration management, and test and evaluation. The Mx Sys Systems Engineer will address technical integration and architecture shortfalls in the development of ALIS/ODIN and develop and oversee plans to obtain sufficient documentation for both efficient prime vendor and alternate vendor support/modification of the ALIS/ODIN systems. Primary Responsibilities: * Assisting with establishing mid-term and long-term strategic engineering initiative * Coordinating very closely with members of Mx Sys PMO technical staff, the prime contractor, and others to collaborate on systems architecture efforts * Developing PMO roadmap integrating key data from various internal and external resources including GitLab, Jira, Confluence, etc. and automate future iterations * Supporting partner and prime integrator management discussions, and assist with briefings for MxS leadership * Providing/preparing supporting documentation for the integration of cybersecurity strategy, F-35 Fleet Management, and other technical dependencies into the MxS Architecture, Data, and Business Logic models - to ensure the tech stack is updated accordingly * Modeling the optimal modernization path forward as defined in the modernization definition (i.e. architecture at all layers), re-evaluating system workflows, standardizing data management, establishing a consistent UI/UX framework, and building a robust business layer that incorporates modern architecture e.g. domain and test-driven development, and automated pipeline testing policy and quality standards * Assisting the Mx Sys Chief Architect to produce a Product Specification for the as-delivered ALIS and ODIN products * Supporting the development of a System Specification for future versions of ALIS/ODIN * Coordinating with other internal F-35 JPO organizations and external organizations to include the Office of the Chief Information Officer and prime support contractors on key engineering initiatives * Conducting searches for and identify GOTS and COTS products which can be used to replace existing ALIS/ODIN products to reduce cost and to improve reliability * Developing action plans for incorporating software from alternate sources, including ECPs, software sustainment plans, and plans for addressing the interfaces between software from different vendors * SECRET Clearance * B.S.
