Shenandoah University (SU) is seeking applications as Adjunct Faculty in Electrical Engineering to teach two undergraduate courses for the Spring 2026 semester in person at its partner institution campus, Henan College of Transportation (HCT), in Zhengzhou, China. This position is part of the SU's joint Electronic Information Engineering Technology program.
Job Responsibilities
* The candidate will teach two undergraduate-level fundamental courses in Spring 2026:
* Electrical Circuits: Covers physical principles underlying the modeling of circuit elements and the fundamentals of the behavior of analog electrical circuits.
* Modern Physics: Covers introduction to relativity and quantum mechanics with selected topics. Provide engineering undergraduate students with a firm base from which they can extend their understanding of the quantum world.
* Deliver quality instruction, in English, to HCT students within the bilingual curriculum framework.
* Ensure the course delivery aligns with joint program standards. This requires collaboration with HCT and SU colleagues and leadership.
* Teaching schedule: 2 to 3 months from February to May 2026.

Working Title Adjunct Faculty - Luter School of Business - Data Analytics / Supply Chain / Operations Management Appointment Type Adjunct Purpose of Position The CNU Luter School of Business is accepting applications from prospective adjunct faculty members to teach individual courses, as needed, in the following areas:
* Business Statistics - introduces students to the strategic value of data and statistical analysis within the context of real-world business problems. Students also learn the value of statistical information in making informed judgments and business process improvements. Specifically, the course will concentrate on the application of statistics to understanding and improving business processes through the use of practical knowledge-based tools, regression models, process experimentation, and statistical inference. The student will also become familiar with different types of data collection and measurements. Requires knowledge and use of R Studio and Excel.
* Data Analytics - the fundamental principles and techniques of data science and data mining, and we will examine real-world examples and cases to place data-mining techniques in context, to develop data-analytic thinking, and to illustrate that proper application is as much an art as it is a science. Requires knowledge and use of R Studio and Excel.
* Operations Management - Understanding the role of the operations function and its impact on the competitiveness of the firm is an important part of any manager's training. Operational issues include designing, acquiring, operating, and maintaining facilities and processes; purchasing raw materials; controlling and maintaining inventories; and providing the proper labor needed to produce a good or service so that customers' expectations are met. This course in operations management is intended to be a survey of operating practices and models in both manufacturing and service-oriented firms.
* Supply Chain Management - deals with the management of the direct value adding activities across all the firms that contribute to the creation, manufacturing and delivery of a product. The objective of this course is to study and integrate the perspectives of different firms and different professional disciplines to develop a broader understanding of how to improve the performance of the entire supply chain. Specific issues to be discussed include: supply chain design, optimization of logistic networks, inventory management, sourcing and supplier contracting, information technology, product design, and globalization. Management Science - knowledge or experience with the techniques and applications in this field. Requires knowledge and use of Excel or related software to solve course related problems.
* Management Science - This course focuses on management science techniques used for problem solving and decision-making in all areas of management. These techniques involve the application of mathematical modeling and an analytical approach to business problems. Students learn to determine which methods are appropriate for solving various types of problems. The primary goal of the course is to help students become more skilled builders and consumers of models. Another important goal is to encourage a more disciplined thinking process when approaching management situations. Management science and operations research tools such as linear programming, sensitivity analysis, and decision trees are covered.
* Software Applications for Business - The Software Applications for Business class covers advanced skills training in Microsoft Excel as well as selected topics in Microsoft Access. Candidates should be able to teach principles of database design and SQL queries. Preference will be given to individuals with Microsoft Office Specialist certification.
* Advanced Data Analytics - This course expands on topics covered in the introductory data analytics class. Much data used by organizations comes from structured storage solutions such as corporate databases. Students learn database data extraction using Structured Query Language (SQL) as well as additional important aspects of working with data such as data cleaning and data wrangling. The course will also examine the most prevalent issues confronting data quality and explore the common approaches and tools for resolving them. Advanced data analytics methods, such as advanced decision trees, naive Bayes, k-nearest neighbors, and neural networks will also be explored. Data mining and visualization tasks will be performed using open source tools.
Along with demonstrated ability for excellent teaching, candidates must hold an earned graduate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited university in a relevant discipline, with 18 completed semester hours of related graduate course work or an MBA and related professional experience. Official transcripts will be required at the time of hire.

The Luter School of Business at CNU is composed of 24 faculty and offers four majors (Accounting, Finance, Management, and Marketing). The Luter School's AACSB accredited business curriculum requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 for entry and attracts some of the University's best students. Working Title Lecturer in English Appointment Type Full Time Purpose of Position The Department of English at Christopher Newport University invites applications for the position of Lecturer in English, effective August 2026. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track position with a nominal teaching load of 4-4. The rank of lecturer is an initial appointment, typically to a fixed-term contract of one year, which may be renewed at the sole discretion of the University. In the third consecutive year of annual appointments, a lecturer may apply for a fixed-term contract of three years. Following this period, qualified candidates may also be eligible for a renewable longer-term appointment. Outstanding performance in teaching, service, and research may lead to advancement in rank to Senior Lecturer and eventually to Master Lecturer.
The individual appointed to this position will predominantly teach freshman and sophomore writing seminars designed to support student success within and beyond the university. We seek a candidate with a terminal MA or a Doctoral degree in English or a related field, and/or significant teaching experience in composition studies. The successful applicant will be able to teach writing courses that prepare students for professional and applied contexts-such as medical advocacy, digital humanities, publishing and editing, linguistics, or childhood studies. Working Title Lecturer in Theater (Scene Design) Appointment Type Full Time Purpose of Position The Department of Music, Theatre and Dance at Christopher Newport University invites applications for the position of Lecturer in Theater specializing in Scene Design, effective August, 2026. This position is a full-time, non-tenure-track appointment with a nominal teaching load of 4-4, and is eligible for appropriate releases for design/production assignments. The successful candidate will be expected to teach studio classes in scene design and drawing & drafting, intro to theater, and other areas of specialization for both majors and non-majors. Furthermore, the successful candidate will integrate technologies of 3D-visualization, 3D-printing, and be proficient with Vectorworks and/or AutoCAD. Production responsibilities include serving as Scenic Designer for four shows in our mainstage season. Supervising teams of students in properties and scenic painting is part of the Scenic Design load. All CNUTheater Faculty participate in departmental advising and recruiting, and actively assist in the theater program's continued development. The successful candidate will be committed to undergraduate teaching within a liberal arts environment, and teaching in the Liberal Learning Core Curriculum is expected of all CNU faculty.
A terminal degree in Theatre, Scenic Design, Theatre Engineering or a closely related field, is required for appointment at the rank of Lecturer. Individuals who will not hold an MFA or Ph.D. by the time of appointment, but possess a master's degree in a related field and/or who have extensive design experience, may be considered for appointment at the rank of Instructor.
