All forms of communication to the office will be given prompt, courteous, and professional attention.
Visitors will be greeted and/or assisted in the same manner.
Employees in this position will insure that patient information is obtained and accurately updated in the hospital#s electronic medical record (EMR), insurance is verified at every registration, and co-pays and payments are collected and accurately posted.
Information will be available so patients can be informed of clinic policies, procedures, services and other information as required or requested.
Other duties include providing clerical support needed to complete coding and billing of procedures by providers.
# ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES # Monitors the current status of the work for supervisor.
Schedules appointments for patients either by phone or in person after an office visit.
Promptly and professionally answers telephone calls.
Routes calls appropriately, offering voice mail or redirection of calls as needed.
Collects copays as required.
Obtains, verifies, and updates patient information and provides support services to patients and medical staff.
Uses manual/computerized system to match physician/clinician availability with patient#s preferences in terms of date and time.
Maintains scheduling system so records are accurate and complete and can be used to analyze patient/staffing patterns.
Provides daily schedules to physicians /clinicians or medical assistants prior to each day#s visits.
Promotes and participates in the implementation, maintenance, and continuous evaluation of EMR.
Secures all required documentation (i.
e.
insurance information, consents and releases are completed and filed, requests sent for additional information from other agencies as needed).
Documents are appropriately attached (scanned, filed, and distributed as necessary) to patient charts.
Ensures that updates (e.

, cancellations or additions) are input daily into master schedule.
Communicates as needed with providers/clinicians and other staff about any patient concerns/issues related to scheduling.
Composes correspondence and disseminates to appropriate individuals.
Uses customer service principles and techniques to deal with patients calmly and pleasantly.
Prepares various documents and handles confidential matters in accordance with clinic rules and procedures.
Greets visitors and assists them as appropriate.
Directs visitors to appropriate waiting areas and appropriately and courteously screens solicitors for relevance to organization needs.
Requests, locates, sends, and receives patient medical records.
Maintains files and assists in establishing office systems.
Maintain office cleanliness with assigned daily cleaning.

Notifies receiving facilities of a patient with a history or current infection involving an MDRO.
Data collection and reporting of device utilization and infections, surgical site infections and Multi-drug Resistant Organisms (MDROs) and any other required data to NHSN.
Participate in hospital infection outbreak investigations utilizing microbiology lab personnel, consulting with the Infection Prevention Medical Director, Wyoming Department of Health and, if necessary, the CDC.
Develops and evaluates the Infection Prevention and Control Plan with stated goals and strategies based on the annual risk assessment and prior year#s activities.
Apply epidemiological principles and statistical methods, including risk stratification, to identify target populations, analyze trends and risk factors, design, implement and evaluate prevention control strategies.
Submit reports to Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) as required by State Statute(s).
Compile and analyze surveillance data, reporting to the Infection Prevention Committee, appropriate Medical Committees, Leadership and Quality Council.
Drive quality/performance improvement activities by identifying, monitoring and measuring nosocomial infections and evaluating outcomes on a regular basis.
Serve as a resource to Home Care/Hospice and Welch Cancer Center for infection prevention practices and surveillance data management.
Assist as needed with reporting results to the Infection Prevention Committee and when appropriate, to Quality Council.
Develops and maintains policies and procedures as related to infection prevention that complies with all county, state, federal and regulatory agencies.

Complete Incident Command System (ICS) training through FEMA and Homeland Security.
Participate with Emergency Preparedness Drills and Table-top exercises.
Participate in continuing education at state and national levels to promote an up-to-date knowledge base commensurate with latest research and scholarly knowledge.
Maintain a knowledge base of accepted infection prevention and control information through peer networking, internet access, published literature and professional meetings.

# Job Summary: # The Behavioral Health Care Coordinator (BHCC) promotes improved outcomes for patients receiving behavioral health services within the Sheridan Memorial Hospital system.
In partnership with the psychiatric provider, the BHCC works with interdisciplinary teams in the Emergency Department, inpatient units, and outpatient settings to conduct mental health assessments, provide crisis intervention, support involuntary hospitalization processes when appropriate, and implement safe discharge and care navigation planning.
