As Chief Pharmacy Officer, Brian leads the company’s clinical strategy, pharmacy operations, manufacturer relations, ancillary services and clinical compliance initiatives. Overall, it is Brian’s role to ensure that Shields provides legendary care to every patient at each of the company’s hospital partner sites across the country while maintaining the highest clinical and regulatory standards.Prior to Shields, Brian was the Director of Clinical Services and Education at UMass Memorial Medical Center. Before that, Brian was an Assistant Professor of Surgery and Graduate Nursing at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Brian holds a BS and PharmD from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

In his role as Chief Strategy Officer, Stephen works closely with the Shields executive team to execute on key strategic and operational initiatives, ensuring that the highest level of integrated care is delivered consistently across all partners. A critical focus of his role is identifying and executing on innovative growth initiatives that expand the company into new service lines, hospitals, disease states and therapies.

Before joining Shields, Stephen was an investor on the healthcare team at LLR Partners, a private equity firm focused on investing in growth stage companies.

Stephen holds a B.S. in Commerce with Distinction from the University of Virginia, with concentrations in Finance, Accounting and Global Commerce.
