Job Summary A Powder Coating Line Associate hangs metal parts on the moving line and takes them off after coating. You will also wash and mask parts, help with simple fixes, and drive a forklift to move parts where they need to go. This role is fast‑paced and hands‑on. Key Responsibilities • Hang parts on the line, making sure hooks and spacers are in the right places. • Take finished parts off the line without scratching the new coating. • Prep parts-wash, blow off, tape, and plug holes so paint sticks only where needed. • Sort parts by job ticket, count them, and mark any missing or damaged items. • Shrink‑wrap or box coated parts for shipping. • Drive a forklift to move raw and finished parts safely. • Keep racks, tools, and work area clean; sweep floors and empty trash. • Follow work orders, labels, and color codes so each order stays together. • Tell the supervisor about line jams, part defects, or low supplies right away. Work Schedule • Four 10‑hour shifts: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. • Extra hours on Friday if needed. Qualifications • High school diploma or GED. • Good hand‑eye coordination and basic math to count parts. • Listens well and follows written and spoken instructions. • Works well alone and with others. • Willing to learn forklift driving and safe lifting. Physical Requirements • Lift up to 50 lbs many times a day. • Stand, reach, bend, and twist for long periods. • Handle hot parts coming out of the oven while wearing gloves. • Work in warm areas up to 110 °F. Duties of this position are usually repetitive, requiring limited analysis and use of individual judgment. Specific duties for this position include beveling, mounting the lenses, edging, blocking lenses, tinting, and inspecting. Finish Layout: Prepare an uncut lens for the edging process by removing lens from envelope, wiping clean of markings, and putting on automatic machines. Layout - sort jobs from wrap, drills, and regular. Tinter: Accurately tint all lenses going through the tinting department. Inspection: Inspect lenses and frames to ensure that they are optically and cosmetically accurate. SURFACE - Blocker Open and tray lens blanks, taping and blocking to accommodate automation. Monitor automated surfacing equipment to keep equipment loaded and clear errors. Polisher: Load and unload lenses in polish machines. Deblock/Wash: Remove blocking system Wash and inspect lenses for cosmetic defects AR- COATING - AR Staging: Scan and sort jobs by coating for scratch and anti-reflective coating treatments Clipping: Clean lenses and place in holders for wash and scratch coat machines. Hard Coat Inspection: Inspect lenses for cosmetic defects after scratch coat application. Perform tests on various scratch coating baths to verify all are within specification: AR Coat: Load lenses into holders for anti-reflective coating - monitor machines GENERAL Perform all duties in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Perform required tasks using correct techniques. May transport work to next station. Work in a role with measurable standards - maintaining production goals. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: High School education or equivalent preferred. Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of the organization. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The regular schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday, 6am -4:30pm. Overtime hours vary, and are worked on Friday's.
