The Emergency Interim Housing is a housing-focused, low-barrier, and harm-reduction program designed to serve individuals experiencing homelessness within the City of San Jose. BHC-Felipe program is an adult-only, referral-based program that provides onsite comprehensive support services. The goal of BHC-Felipe is to assist all program participants with transition from emergency interim housing into permanent housing.
The ShiftSupervisor is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations and supervision of Resident Advocates. They ensure program compliance and service delivery standards are met while fostering a safe and welcoming environment.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: The position reports to the on-site Program Manager and is a vital member of providing leadership on-site.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Team Lead (ShiftSupervisor), you'll better people's days by supervising the daily activities of shifts and supporting a dynamic team of incredible people. Team Leads motivate and inspire our team members and set the bar for superior service and drink quality, all while contributing to a welcoming environment. Be a role model by handcrafting each cup with care and skill alongside an awesome team of Baristas.
Develop strong relationships with customers and the local community.
Assess the performance of your team members, including service and drink quality.
Hold team members accountable to their scheduled shifts, ensure that called out shifts are covered, and breaks/lunches are given.
Communicate performance of team members to Store Leaders and other ShiftSupervisors to ensure consistency.
Support promotions and new hires through in-store training.
Help your Store Leader in executing operations and administrative duties.
Be a key leader in implementing and maintaining Philz safety programs.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to:
Operate a variety of machines, tools, and equipment
Visual acuity to make general observations in regards to safety and accuracy of work
Remain in a stationary position for a minimum of 3 hours
Stand, walk, stoop, and kneel
Lift up to 50 pounds intermittently, lift 3 pounds to shoulder height repetitively
Grasp, finger, and reach
Express or exchange information by means of the spoken word
**Compensation & Benefits
A reasonable estimate of the starting base hourly rate for this role is $22.55 to $24.55. Team Members also participate in a tip pool and may earn an average of $5.00 additional per hour.

Under the leadership of the department director and their assigned supervisor, the Westland House (WH) Shift Leader is responsible for assuring quality food production and clinical nutrition services occurs. The WH Shift Leader verifies all positions are scheduled, covers staff shortages and ensures staff has completed all assigned duties. The WH Shift Leader is responsible for the accuracy of the inventory and ordering processes; maintains disaster supplies; ensures correct temperatures in all refrigeration, food and dishwashing equipment and the cleanliness at their location is maintained. The WH Shift Leader is responsible for identifying potential and actual equipment failures, and works cooperatively with Engineering and/or outside vendors, as appropriate. The WH Shift Leader, with the registered dietitian, provides medical nutrition therapy to meet the patient's nutrition and education needs and completes the minimum data sets (MDS). This position assures diet orders, tray cards and patient trays are accurate, and modifying special diet menus, as needed. The WH Shift Leader is responsible for identifying personnel issues and referring them to the supervisor and/or director.
The WH Shift Leader must possess leadership skills and the ability to interact with management staff, clinical staff, our own employees and staff from other departments to resolve issues. Excellent problem solving skills and exceptional ability to prioritize is required.
Experience
The ability to communicate orally, read, write, speak and comprehend English is required. Intermediate computer skills are required. Intermediate knowledge of diet therapy is required. Excellent customer service and food service experience is required. Supervisory experience in a food service setting is preferred.
Education
Education as required for Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification with the Association of Foodservice & Nutrition Professionals or DTR with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Licensure/Certifications
CDM certification with the Association of Foodservice & Nutrition Professionals, DTR, or DTR eligible with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. DTR eligible applicants must successfully complete the DTR exam within six (6) months of employment. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required. ServSafe Certification at the time of hire, or within 180 days of hire is required.
