They will be responsible for directing and supervising Operations Department and other plant personnel to ensure the facility is operated and maintained in a proper, clean, safe, environmentally compliant and efficient manner in accordance with all Company policies, industry standards and environmental standards, under the direction of the Operations Manager or Plant Manager. Duties may include but are not limited to: Actively Monitor and control all plant systems including boilers, turbines, emissions control systems and residue handling systems. Ensure optimal performance of all waste combustion and energy generation processes. Disciplined compliance with operational procedures and equipment/industry standards for the safe and proper operation of the facility during assigned shift rotation. Supervision of the functional activities of the assigned operations work group to ensure the facility is operated in a proper, safe, productive, clean and compliant manner during assigned work shift. Closely monitor the production and maintenance activities of the WtE facility and assist in planning and executing both scheduled and unscheduled equipment repairs and maintenance activities, outage work as well as the timely completion of operating duties. Support the development of operating procedures and instructions. Assist in the evaluation and development of recommendations for plant improvements. Maintains and enforces Company policies and procedures, environmental compliance, and safety and health requirements. Establishes and sustains acceptable work standards for operations tasks and activities as well as behaviors and performance. Trains shift personnel in safety procedures and equipment use, plant operating procedures, and environmental standards and compliance. Implements corporate and plant training programs and ensures continued progress in the programs by shift personnel. Responsible for the enforcement and administration of the lockout/tagout system, confined space entry program, facility Hot work program as well as other safe work programs. Performs other administrative duties such as conducting performance appraisals, completing disciplinary forms, accident and equipment damage reports, approval of timesheets, and documentation of attendance and tardiness. Creates work requests through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Maintains an accurate log of facility operations, activities, and events. Makes frequent rounds of the facility to ensure proper operation of steam generation and turbine generator equipment, materials storage and handling, facility security, cleanliness, safety, and environmental compliance. Serves as the Plant Manager's representative during periods when site leadership team is off-site. Writes reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals as required or directed by facility operations Decisively and effectively directs personnel during all plant operations conditions including equipment upset conditions and equipment failures. Completes the Corporate and Plant Training Programs within the time frame prescribed. Responsible for maintaining acceptable team morale. Fosters and promotes a culture of teamwork and customer service between operational staff and all other plant staff. Ensures that the facility and all personnel operate safely at all times and promotes an environment whereby safety is a priority. Reads, understands, and applies information such as, lockout/tagout procedures, safety rules, job hazard analyses, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. As a Shift Lead, you'll function as a lead member of the Sales Associate team, encouraging cross-team collaboration and setting the standard for performance. In this multi-dimensional role, you'll provide customer sales assistance alongside the Sales Associate but also act as "Manager on Duty" when necessary. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Sales Leadership * Assist customers and leads the team in driving sales, service, and customer experience initiatives in store to achieve sales, KPIs and store performance goals. * Prioritize, assign, and delegate daily goals, tasks, and assignments to associate team and ensure proper completion when manager on duty. * Maintain a high level of professionalism and positive attitude in the workplace, including conducting oneself in an appropriate manner when communicating verbally, in writing, or by email. Customer Excellence * Partner with the Store Manager to plan and execute community events and develop mutually beneficial business relationships with various rescue agencies. * Protect employees and customers by maintaining a safe and clean store environment. Required to maintain cleanliness and well-being of all livestock including animal care and feeding. * Lead and demonstrate engagement with customers using selling and service model. Operations & Team Building * Supports, understands, and is accountable for maintaining store standards and meeting all safety requirements / standards, including the protection of all company assets both tangible and intangible. * Clean pet enclosures and ensure all animals have appropriate food and water. * Support in maintaining the fish system. * Assist with the restocking of merchandise on shelves and fixtures and moving products from the stockroom to the salesfloor. Heavy lifting up to 55lbs may be repeatedly required several times throughout a shift. * Partners with the Store Manager to ensure physical inventories are accurate, counts are taken, and shrink goals are met. * Proficient in store opening and closing procedures. * Accountable for communicating concerns with gaps in performance to Store Manager or Assistant Store manager so this can be addressed appropriately and in a timely manner. * Support the execution of new hire training and merchandising guidelines. * Support the execution of community events and partnering with various rescue agencies. * Complete tasks and other duties as assigned by store management. Business Insight * Understands the business. Regularly monitor business throughout the day / shift. Needs to be able to react to business needs. Experience, Education, Certifications (List minimum required to enter the role.) * Minimum 1 year retail or customer service experience * Enjoy working with and around animals. Job Requirement * Ability to work a flexible work schedule which will include morning, evenings, weekends and/or holidays. * Valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle preferred. Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Effort of position: * Several duties require physical exertion and dexterity. Heavy lifting up to 55lbs required several times throughout a shift. * Majority of tasks do not require long periods of mental concentration. One notable exception would be inventory ordering. * Most of the time is spent on the selling floor, standing, or moving around. Active listening required when communicating / speaking with customers and employees. * Active observation required when merchandising the store. * Works in a relatively temperature-stable environment. * May occasionally need to work alone. * Accidental injuries from pets are possible. * Common injuries are slips/trips/falls and strains/sprains due to lifting.
