Material Handler -

12 hour B Shift

Schedule: 7pm-7am

-- with this shift you can work only 182 days a year rather than the 260 days that an individual with 8 hours shifts would work on average. Weeks alternating, with one being 36 hours and the next, 48 hours making every other weekend, a 3-day weekend!

Reads work order or follows verbal instructions. May feed, remove, flex, jog, and stack printed sheets, folded signatures, labels or other in-process product to and from the equipment in the area assigned. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. May load materials into trucks and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools.

Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, or other device. Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together, using banding machine and clincher. May use automated equipment and/or operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.

Good knowledge of general warehouse layout, item identification codes, basic warehouse procedures, and the storage areas in order to be able to place or pull paper stock, signatures and materials in accordance with standard procedures. Able to stock, move, arrange, and rotate items in accordance with operating instructions. Able to complete appropriate forms relating to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and the labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials. Good skill in the use of shrink-wrap and strapping equipment, powered lift equipment, pallet jacks, manual dollies, carts or hand trucks and hand tools used in material handling tasks such as hammers, pliers, strapping and stretch wrapping tools and equipment, tape fasteners, metal band sheers and related equipment. May require skill in operating/using forklift truck.

: To maintaining cleanliness of bars. To remove all trash, to sweep and mop floors, to remove mats to clean and remove any sticky products. To deep clean bars weekly to include wiping off bottles, cleaning countertops and walls, removing glass mats and cleaning all sticky surfaces, emptying cabinets and wiping down insides and returning products.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Remove and transport bar trash in large green trash can and wheel to dumpster Remove rubber mats and transport to proper area by beverage cart for cleaning Maintain clean floors by sweeping and moping floors with clean hot bleach water Clean out drains and pour bleach to maintain clean and clear drains Use correct elevators and delivery routes to and from bars. Report to Food & Beverage Supervisor on duty for daily assignments. Maintain proper uniform, ID badge and nametag at all times. Regular and predictable attendance Remain up to date on hotel happenings and hours of operation of all food and beverage outlets. Do a deep cleaning which includes wiping down bottles, cleaning all surfaces countertops and walls. Present a professional manner at all times.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) Understand and comply with all department and company policies and procedures, rules and regulations. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and guests. Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English. Ability to perform basic math.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education : High school education or equivalent preferred.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS : Work is performed in an area, which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, smoky, dimly lit, brightly illuminated and have contact with slippery surfaces. Work may be performed in areas having a 3-ft. access. Work requires use of small ladder or footstool. Work entails chemical usage. Constant contact with staff and guests. Pushing trash cans and pulling carts to dumpster or cleaning area through crowds of people.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS : (May be required in order to perform the essential functions of the position). Position requires Team Member to enter & exit from the Team Member entrance which entails 4 flights of stairs (40 steps). Requires being mobile 100% of the shift. Requires seldom climbing of stairs, and balancing; occasional kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling and maneuvering weights of up to 250 lb., lifting/carrying of up to 50 lbs., frequent standing, walking, bending and reaching in areas from floor level to 6 ft. high, crouching, repetitive use of both hands to include light and firm/strong grasping, finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination. Requires normal sense of smell, taste, touch and sound. Requires normal vision range, accommodation and absence of color blindness. Requires communicating by telephone and radio. Requires use of electrical equipment. Requires the ability to perform simple tasks, reading, writing and math skills.
