As project delivery models, regulatory frameworks, supply chains, and technology continue to evolve, our ability to stay flexible and agile in our estimating approach is essential to our success. **Responsibilities** + Prepares technical evaluations, cost estimating draft reports, memos, and letters, and presents recommendations to management. + Develops, provides, and communicates cost estimates for all assigned projects. + Accurately and thoroughly forecasts costs of future projects as well as changes to existing projects while also developing timely estimates for each design deliverable at each phase of design development.Reviews and interprets project drawings, specifications, contracts, and owner-provided documents. + Develops detailed material take-offs for estimate development and procurement. + Expected to assist in the preparation of larger and more complex estimating assignments including overall estimating strategy. + Understands construction means, methods, and sequencing. + Understands how various constraints may impact the estimate and prepares detailed scope-specific estimates. + Analyzes and incorporates historical data into production factors. + Prepares and/or coordinates preparation of estimates. + Provides mentoring, coaching, and training within the estimating department. + Prepares scope and bid package breakdowns for trade partners. + Ability to oversee multiple scopes within the estimate development and leverages past experience to craft estimating strategy. + Ability to travel for client meetings, bid kickoffs, bid reviews, bid closeouts, interviews, or team workshops as needed. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. + 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. + Experience in hard-bid contract work as well as conceptual estimating. + Understands construction means, methods, and sequences. + Experience with water, wastewater, transit, and/or transportation construction projects. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Excellent project management skills with ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands in deadline-driven environment. + Previous heavy civil construction experience + Proficiency in estimating software (HCSS Heavy Bid or Ineight Estimate). + Strong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail + Work independently and effectively to prioritize multiple tasks + Highly organized with excellent time management skills + Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills + Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office suite of applications. The salary range for this position is between $160,000-$195,000 per year depending on experience and/or education. In this role, the individual will: + Execute Stage-Gate Project Commercial requirements related to contracting and procurement for studies in collaboration with study partners. + Implement fit-for-purpose contracting and procurement strategies for studies, and transfer those strategies into actionable plans with clear timelines to enable delivery in the fast-paced study environment. + Identify and support delivery of commercial value optimization opportunities across Newmont's study portfolio, leveraging the portfolio's scope and scale. + Develop working relationships with key contractors / suppliers to enable efficient sourcing and effective third party delivery across the studies portfolio. + Execute pre-award activities including market analysis, bidder identification / screening, bid preparation, proposal evaluation, supplier negotiations, contract award, and contract operationalization in Newmont's relevant systems (SAP, Ariba, etc.). + Execute post-award activities including mobilization, contract management, performance management, and close-out of commercial activities. + Ensure all procurement and contracting activities adhere to safety requirements, ESG commitments, Indigenous and Local engagement goals, and regulatory standards.
